Outflanked was first out in an allowance. She is basically one of those dud runners. I took a gamble buying her and it certainly hasn’t paid off! Her record is a stunning 13-0-0-0-0 with earnings of $5,250. I’ve listed her for sale so a big good luck to her new owner.
Peer To Peer made the day great with a fantastic win in the MV VaseGr.2. I claimed her for $5,000 and this year her record is 5(4)-2(1)-3(3)-0-0 with $334,000 in earnings. I’m really excited about this girl who I think will do well this year.
So Assertive gave me the quinella in the MV VaseGr.2. He’s a decent runner who I’ve just gelded. He’s probably more of an allowance horse, but does okay from time to time in stakes.
Sunday Joy and Unnamed went out together in a 9.5f maiden. Unnamed continues to run middle of the pack with no inclination to run. She came back with a 5th place. Sunday Joy, on the other hand, finally broke her maiden. She’s been in the money 2 out of 3 starts this year, so we’re really hopeful about the career that lies ahead.
Former $15,000 claimer, Never Been Kissed came in 2nd in her allowance. I think we may have to tweak her equipment, because I know there’s a monster in there, somewhere.
Former $30,000 claimer, Sultry Woman won her first stakes today. She faced down the boys to win the Gotham Stakes, with an impressive SF. Very, very happy with her.
Didn’t do too well this time around. And picked up another claimer. The Perfect Rose came in 6th And Gotothematresses also did poorly. Rose is now on his way home, and I think I’m gonna send Gotothematresses home as well. As soon as US Marshall runs his race on the 19th he’s also going for a break.
It was a halfway decent day for Coleman Branch, as two of three horses finished in the money.
[color=blue]Banjo Pickin’, a former claimer, ran his usual 3rd place on 5.5f. We’re still trying to figure out how to get him to win again since he’s only done it once.
We claimed [color=blue]Start it Up, who ran 4/6 over 14f. He was a sentimental choice, as I created his lines.
Most disappointing was [color=blue]Southern Brother, who ran 7/10 in his 5.5f Grade 2. He seems to freak whenever I send him out in a stakes and hasn’t placed higher than 5th. I’m hoping it’s not that he’s that slow.
