I have a question, if you want to lease a broodmare, and the dates are march to march, but the stud doesn’t have a spot until may, how does it work for keeping the foal?
When the foal is born, it automatically belongs to the person who bred the foal so even if the lease ends, if you bred the mare you get the foal when it arrives.
Exactly. Whoever clicks the “Breed this mare” button counts as having bred the foal. If you bred the foal, you own the foal. So you could lease a mare for a year and not breed her for 11 months of it and you’d still own the resulting foal even though the mare was pregnant at her owner’s farm for most of the time.
