I have a broodmare that I’m leasing until February 5 (she’s due Feb 3). However, she’s in an auction right now, which ends January 31. My question is, once she’s sold (if she does), does the new owner get the foal? 'Cause I want this baby, lol.
Nevermind, I looked a little closer and bidding comment says foal does not go with the mare since it was bred during a lease. Whew!
I presume it’s one of the Snowbird mares. I’ll be keeping track of the sold in-foal mares to make sure the foals bred during a lease end up with the people who had leased and arranged the breeding (because there’s 1 mare in that auction where I also bred the foal under a lease).
The code should be setup now to only transfer unborn babies if the owner of the baby matches the owner of the mare. So since breeders automatically get flagged as the breeder/owner of the foal, you should be OK.
If not, file a bug and I’ll fix the code.
so does that mean that i am going to lose the foal of the mare i bought from them? that was part of the reason i bought her.
tho it looks like she was bred on the end date of her lease being up?
I made sure a note was included on the Submit a Bid page about whether the foal came with the mare or not. I just checked, and you’ll get Alyjoy’s foal
great thanks
