I’ve got two foals so far this year, though I’m expecting quite a few more.  ^.^  I won’t be breeding my mares this year, as I’ve got next to no time left at the end of my day to figure out who should go to who, so as they give birth, my mares will be put up for lease for others to use. 

Our first foal is this girl, who was a bit early, though I can’t remember when she was due

I usually keep much better track of who’s due when.  Came to the stables tonight to check the mare due on the 31st to discover two others decided they’d held on quite long enough thankyouverymuch.  Lol.

Name help! (I think I love foaling season not just for the foals but the NAMING of the foals, haha).

Fine Detail: Detailed War, War Portrait, Freedom Fighter, In Great Detail, Symmetry, Art of War, Call Me Fine, Finest Call, War Cry, Too Detailed, Brushstroke, Call the Shots, Tactical Courage, Pay Attention.

Teenage Temper: Preteen, Almost Raging, Temper Temper, Barely a Teen, Barely Raging, Hometown Glory, Homebound Glory, Homeward Bound.

Not sure if you need name ideas but him but since he’s unnamed I’ll throw out a few!

And just to prove that I really cannot keep track of anything anymore…we had a new foal born last night.  Did I catch it?  Of course not.  So imagine my surprise when I went down to the barn and had one more foal than I was expecting out frolicking in the paddock.  cough  She was overdue as it was, I should’ve been expecting it.

Yes, the filly fairy is in full force here. 

I didn’t have the chance to post this first girl yesterday, I spent most of my day dealing with our inept police department trying to get them to take the theft of my husband’s shotgun a little more seriously than just telling us to check Craigslist.  :/  It was not a fun day.

I don’t have time for a big write up like I did the others (and I know I’m missing one that was born late last month, I’ll find him), but I did want to give this guy a small little announcement.

Hollywood’s Curse, the only one I’ve been actively disappointed he wasn’t a filly because his parents names just made for some great play on words for a filly.

[edit] Changed his name to Hollywood Warlock.  His name was rather similar to another foal of mine from this season, so…yeah.

The foal I’ve been most excited about finally arrived this morning! :smiley:  And the colts have caught up to the fillies in a tie.

A lovely boy who looks a great deal like his mama, except for he has a star instead of a snip.  If I’m lucky, he’ll be a clone of her racing ability as well, she was the best racer I had at the time and still ranks pretty high on my stable’s list of big money earners.

Strike Out is also up for lease for brood.

Ok, I need a bit of help with this girl. I can’t tell y’all how pleased I am that this is a filly, but honestly, it amuses me that (according to FF time, which is an hour ahead of me), she was born on my 30th birthday.  I’ve been having some trouble accepting the fact that I’m out of my 20’s and this girl helped lessen the sting a bit.

Happy birthday and congrats on the filly!

Being born on your birthday - especially your 30th - opens a whole bunch of naming possibilities.  My man got to celebrate that last fall, and I get to celebrate next spring, so I feel your “pain” at the major number change!  Hopefully it will be an even better decade, though.

Heh…thank y’all!  My hubby has been rubbing it in since Saturday that I’m “old” now. I happily reminded him he’s a few years older than me. Lol.

Now to choose a name…so many good ones!
