Well, the best I can say is at least she waited till 2014.
I came to the stable today to discover my maiden mare [color=red]Trace My Lace had given birth. I excitedly checked the foal to discover it was not breathing and cold. Sadly, we lost the colt despite all efforts to the contrary.

Yeah, that’s definitely something to be thankful for. I was worried when I first saw the notice that I’d had a horse die, it didn’t quite dawn on me at first that it said “Unnamed”.
After teasing us for the past three days, we finally have a slightly late baby. Of course, her page still says unborn, but for the moment, I’ll brag on her.

A dark grey filly with lots of white on her face and all four feet and I can say outright, she’s lots bigger than I was expecting at 10 hh. Her due date was on the 4th, and I was worried that Party would go before New Year’s. Obviously, I worried for nothing, instead she made me wait a few days. Glad she finally decided to get the torture over with.
Thanks Nan! The name means “the sad one” just because I was so sad over the passing of my grandfather and I needed to mark his passing in some way. Kinda depressing, but the name is pretty at least.
We came to the stable today to discover that we had a new foal. It’s not the one we’ve been waiting anxiously for a week for though. Our mare Echo Park decided she just couldn’t wait two more weeks to give birth. :D

We bought Spell in foal with this girl, so I don’t know much about her lines, but we’re hoping she’ll do well. We’re sending her to Nch. Call To War for a 2015 foal.
Looks like the fillies definitely have it this year…
I hope she grows up to be as lovely as her name is.
