I was looking through some of my Quarter Horse broodmares and I just kinda laughed when I looked at my mare Larks Silver Charm’s pedigree, shes got Buckpasser on her papers lol. And she is a daughter of Rugged Lark too!
I grew up about 20 mins from Skylark Farms, they are the home of LeoLark, Rugged Larks’ grandpa. I used to go there on weekends and ride and even got Leo out several times to groom him and turn him out in the arena. That was a treat in the early 80’s before he died. Rode some future World Champions from that ranch.
I also owned a daughter of Poco Acres, our stud was by Sir Raleigh, and we also had daughters of Doc Bar, Sugar Wes, Two Eyed Jack, the last daughter of Peponita, and some other bloodlines that now you see 3 and 4 generations back. We also had studs by: Go Man Go, Jet Deck, Rocket Wrangler and Blonde’s Dude.
What fillies do you have available? and where do you live? pics?
If you look a little further you will find “War Admiral, Mahmoud, Bold Ruler and Hail to Reason” in there as well. She’s really well bred on the dams side. Do you know if her mother “Japaar” had any others that were bred to thoroughbred studs?
I was doing that for some of the horses I learned to ride on (my instructor rode at Woodbine as an exercise rider so the majority of horses were OTTBs) and was shocked to find that one of my favourite horses, Rainbow Gold, was quite awesome on the track.

(He retired sound at age 11. I showed in him a schooling show at age 12 three weeks later. Ugly horse but such a sweetheart)
Some of the others had some cool bloodlines I never knew about as well
Here is some of Japaar’s offspring that are out of Thoroughbred studs: (one of them has earned $231k! lol i know thats not much but to me it is!) http://www.pedigreequery.com/progeny/japaar
Wow!!! Brenda that is AMAZING! I would love to have those opportunities! My aunt used to be around Rugged Lark alot and I heard he was quite the character!
I am living in SD, where there are not alot of Thoroughbreds, and the filly I have for sale out of her is kind of no bred, and I want rid of her so that is one less mouth to feed.
Larks Silver Charm is currently in foal to Brennas Golden Dunit. (www.remedyranch.com) I’m still not sure if i want to breed her to a TB, or a speed QH. But I love the mind that Goldie puts on his colts and the current colt I have out of him is the most versatile/athletic thing I’ve ever rode!
