Going crazy waiting for last 2 babies, cutting it close to the cutoff , one mare is 2 weeks late, the other due on my daughters b-day the 29th.
Our next to the last foal of the season was born Today finally , I did notice something odd the filly is black when her parents are bays, and grandparents are bay/chestnuts. I love black horses ,but was surprised and pleased with this throwback/recessive color!

Her dam was a created horse I bought at auction and reached Ch status as a 2 yo , but then decided she didn’t want to run anymore .This is her third foal the first is unplaced so far.

Well Iron Spur Stables foaling season is finished , with a huge healthy filly born this morning. We lost my starter horse (she will be missed) and 2 colts this year. And with this final foal the fillies beat the colts by 1.

Well with Her sire line being one of my faves, most of his info has been spoken of under other foals here.
Her dam was a $5k bargain , lightly raced on both turf and dirt seemed to be a mudder. She lost her first foal (2013) so her first one will race next yr, this foal should be fun to figure out.
I hope to send her to Foolhardy ,waiting on approval for his last date now, otherwise she will visit my boy Slip in the Mud.
