Well came on today in a sad mood to check on my mares to find I lost another horse , this time a foal, I swear it’s getting worse every year. Out of two colts born one survived.

This is his dams first baby ,but with her sire, and grandisire both chef de race with many winner/MSW’s, grand dam has produced almost all winners.
We are hoping this cross proves to be a good little runner, his dam seemed to prefer dirt compared to all options, and his sire Was a dirt racer too, so here’s hoping it gets passed along.

I’m sorry to see that What’s Debatable’s colt died, especially right on top of one of your broodmares (and she was one of your starter horses). Waiting on pins and needles after losing such a young mare/and a foal as I have three older mares 2,due to retire after delivery and both are due the first week of July , haven’t decided on the third one yet she is 15 so she might retire too the other two are 16 & 17, so am really hoping for early deliveries and for smaller foals so there is less stress on the mare. This season for them was really a gamble to begin with , but there are others who had older mares too so I am gambling on safe deliveries. Also have a couple over due and due this week and next . It takes sooooo long!
Really? I thought that they were pushing it now, that makes me feel better even tho the one I lost was only 9 , maybe I won’t retire them quite yet, in will have to see how their babies have done, I plan on having an auction, I might breed them to my boys and sell them instead. Thanks for the info!

We know this mare is a great producer and I sold my Ch colt by her by accident due to not rechecking that the no longer for sale button was checked, am still mad over that one! With these lines I am hoping to have another champion on my hands, so far the only non winner was a stillborn foal that would be a 2yo this yr and running with the other babies.

Actually, unless you’re planning to retire her yourself, this may not necessarily be Dark Act’s last foal. FF has random retirement dates. She could retire as late as 20yos. The only risk you have is that she’ll retire too early after you’ve bred her and you’ll lose the foal.
Yeah I meant I was going to retire her , but I got in with Spock as he had a date left , I just figured I would retire her next yr as she’s been a good mare . thanks I think he’s a good looking colt too!
