Irish, English, American TC/TT races

I was planning out a few race schedules for a few of my stakes kids and have a few questions. Under the Hall of Fame we currently don’t have any winners for the various TC/TT series but I’m not even sure what exact races make up said series. In the case of the Irish TC/TT, in RL it would go (for the Crown) 2000 Guineas, Irish Derby, Irish St. Leger. But in FF the Irish 2000 Guineas and Irish Derby are just 1 week apart, while the Irish 1000 Guineas and Irish Oaks are over 1 month apart. And the RL American Triple Tiara has always been redone so many times I don’t know what actual is the Tiara in RL or in FF, haha.

Can anyone break down the different series races for the Irish, English, and American versions here in FF?

English and Irish TC consist of 2000 Guineas (mile) Derby (mile and a half) and St Leger (mile and three quarters).

The English TC is only open to 3yos, the Irish St Leger is also open to older horses. English 2000 was last weekend, Irish 2000 is usually two weeks later. English Derby is 2nd June, the Irish equivalent is the 30th (I think, that weekend at least). English St Leger usually early September, Irish equivalent mid-Spetember. Fillies are broadly similar the 1000 Guineas races run on the same weekend as the colts’ race. English Oaks is the day before the Derby but the Irish Oaks 2-3 weeks after the colts race. There’s no “filly only version on the St Ledger - the Fillies’ TC includes the St Ledger as it does for colts.

I’m asking what it is in FF, since the Irish 2000 was today but the English 2000 is this Saturday (vs RL English 2000 being last week and Irish 2000 in ~2 weeks). Since I saw the Irish Derby is 7 days after the Irish 2000 Guineas in FF, but the Oaks is over a month after the Irish 1000 Guineas, I wasn’t sure what the official series are in FF – giving the boys 7 days vs. the girls 5ish weeks seems more than a little off, lol.

I made this note to write my “famous races” posts:

Triple Crowns:

American: Kentucky Derby (5.05), Preakness Stakes (19.05), Belmont Stakes (9.06)

English: Two Thousand Guineas (12.05), Epsom Derby (9.06), St. Leger Stakes (1.08)

Canadian: Queen’s Plate Stakes (23.06), Prince of Wales Stakes (21.07), Breeders’ Stakes (8.08)

I think the Irish Triple Crown is incomplete in the game, and also the Australian. These dates are for FF races; I’ll be looking up the real life dates as they come. I decided to write about races that have purses of at least $1,000,000; some of them are part of Triple Crowns.

Ah l, I see. Well, it’d be the same races as in real life just at funny times! We only have a few FF races in Ireland but the FF English season is too short to realistically match the RL version so I guess they have to be squeezed in where possible.

Ah, okay. That makes sense then! I was having horror thoughts of having to try and turn poor Chortle around in 7 days to go again if I wanted to attempt the Irish TC. So just need to clarify the official American Triple Tiara in FF.

What I found about Australian Triple Crown:

it’s on different days in FF than in real life, and also we’re missing the “third leg” in FF:

2022-08-29    #50    Australia    Canterbury Guineas (Gr. 1)    Dirt    9.5 furlongs    3yo    $350,000 (now Randwick Guineas - runs in March) - 10.03.2018 this year

2022-09-19    #50    Australia    Rosehill Guineas (Gr. 1)    Turf    10 furlongs    3yo    $450,000 - in March - 24.03.2018 this year

Australian Derby - 7.04.2018 - we don’t have this one in the game (only the Australian Cup, but it’s a different race).

Here is a list of their major races:

racing.australianturfclub.com.au/feature-races

and a Wikipedia page:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australia … red_Racing

I will probably do a major overhaul of the race schedule at some point…but I have no idea when.

(For what it’s worth, the original intent was to have all the various Triple Crowns/Tiaras represented in the game.)

The Irish TC is actually complete as the Irish St. Leger is the 3rd leg, even though it is not restricted to 3YO’s. I believe that the RL version was changed to 3YO & Up a few years ago as they were only getting about 3-4 runners each year. This year, the FF version will be Jul 28th. It will be very hard to get a FF Irish TC winner as the 2,000 Guineas and the Derby are only one week apart and most horses haven’t had a chance to recover their Energy in time.

The RL American TT is very confusing as, depending on where you get the info, the 3rd leg varies between the Coaching Club American Oaks and the Mother Goose. The first two legs are the Kentucky Oaks and the Black-Eyed Susan Stakes.

As Hilda pointed out, the 3rd leg of the Australian TC is not run in FF so we will never have a TC Winner.

One interesting thing about the Canadian TC (in FF at least, not sure about RL) is that the first 2 legs are run on Dirt and the 3rd leg is run on Turf.

Unfortunately, there will be no Irish TC winner this year. [color=blue]What’re My Chances, who won the Irish 2,000 Guineas last week, has not recovered and has an “F” for Energy. We will only have one runner, [color=blue]Glory Honor&Praise, who finished 4th in the Irish 2,000 Guineas, but who has recovered his Energy very quickly…
