Stormy Lady was leased from Southern Cross TC. I liked her bloodlines; some of her half-siblings are producing quite nicely in the shed. And I like All Jazzed Up enough to give him a shot with only a small number of racing age foals on the ground. Ornithology is the name of a jazz standard by the great Charlie Parker - I thought it made a cute name (although of course I had a ton of really nice colt names lined up for this crossā¦).

Yep! I worked in an orno lab for a while (studied Florida scrub jays, it was great) but thatās not why I chose it as her name Haha.

Our maiden mare gave birth to a lovely, unexpectedly big filly this morning. The filly is happy as can be - her dam is rather tired from this whole ordeal, but healthy and well.

Wildwood Flower is the first foal out of Almost Like My Mom, a stakes placed Go For Dash mare. The fillyās size was a bit of a shock given that neither sire nor dam is particularly tall and she was born just about on time. Healthy dam and foal, no complaints from me! Sheās been named after the posthumous album & song by June Carter Cash.

First foal out of this Distinct Possibili mare. She was raced primarily under FF management and never really took off, although she improved after I bought her in her 4YO year. It turned out to be too little too late, but hopefully she can make some nice contributions off the track now. The Drakensberg Mountains are a mountain range in South Africa. Looks like heās going to be a small guy - theyāre my favorite so Iām happy. Doubles has a date with French Ruby.

Second foal out of a created MSP champion steeplechase mare. This filly is bred for the jumps - hopefully if she got some of the talent of either sire or dam, sheāll be good to go. The name seemed to fit really well and I was pleasantly surprised that it wasnāt taken. Long Live The Kingās first crop will be 2YOs this year and Iām excited to see how they do. Kilburn Kate has been leased to Black Storm West for 2018.

Dark Demand x Still A Princess (Whatās It Worth Ā§ x Dark Princess (B))

Big colt from two big parents; I expect him to be quite a tall boy. This is Still A Princessās second foal. Dark Demandās first crop will be eligible to run this year and Iām excited to see what they do. Since neither sire nor dam has any offspring record to go off yet, Castle Stalker is a bit of a shot in the dark, but Iām hopeful he will work out. Castle Stalker is named after the Scottish tower house on an islet in Loch Laich.
Chestnuts with stars are my favorite.

Take Me Away is bronze rated with one crop to race; Death Becomes Her has had one runner and one winner - itās probably too early for me to make a call on either of their offspring records, but I think both at least look promising at this early stage. Fossegrim is the name of a mythical Scandinavian water spirit who lured women and children to drown in lakes and streams with his music.
