I just noticed that my handicaps for 07.02.08 and 07.05.08 have been declared null and void because they were posted up after 12AM hit. They were all posted up before 12AM but I live in the Pacific Time Zone, so I don’t know when exactly I’m supposed to have them posted up my time vs. Eastern.
And can someone explain the time on the right hand corner of the website? It’s one hour slower than my time zone, which is only adding to the confusion here.
Handicapping needs to be posted by 12 midnight EST. We too live on the west coast, so that is 9pm our time, PST.
I don’t know what FF time is. I have heard different times.
Don’t give up on handicapping, as it is a good source of income. If you do good, you can add $50,000 or more to your account. Some make 6 figures for the year.
The time on the right appears to be FF time and, at present, it appears to be 4 hours behind EST. I’ve never paid any attention to it in the past.
I have found handicapping to be a very good source of extra income and a bit of fun, looking at the results of the races and comparing them to my picks. I probably spend about an hour on a Tuesday and a Friday working out my picks and am averaging about $5,000 a day. I have so far earned over $300K this year and fully expect to go over $500k by the end of the year.
My advice to Shirozora is to ignore the FF time, work on the basis that you have to get your picks in by 9pm PST, and have fun.
Once I have time to work on another project for FF (after stables, future entries, and future shipping are done), I’ll be working on automating handicapping. This will eliminate the time zone thing, as handicapping (or rather, bets) will be due by post time, and that’s it. (Or rather, post time of race 1, so you can’t enter bets for race 50 while the races are running.)
