Finally, we have a new arrival to report
[color=blue]Free At Last
Highland Wizard (G) x Freedoms Run (B) (created)
9.1hh bay with a snip.

This little chap was almost three weeks late arriving having been due on the 2nd. It was quite a difficult foaling and as a result Freedoms Run has been retired from breeding. She was purchased from Morning Star Farms specifically for the Wizard covering so we’re very pleased he’s arrived safely. Mum has eight foals to race so far and all are winners with three being stakes placed so hopefully he should shape up into a nice performer at allowance level. Can relax a bit now as the next one’s not due until March.
Six foals expected - [color=blue]1 colt, five to follow, one mare retired.
Cute name! Sorry to hear you only got one foal out of Freedom’s Run, but hopefully he’ll be a nice one.
Thank you. I had a feeling something might happen to her as she was a '97 mare and it was a bit of a gamble to take her on but I also managed to get one of her daughters at another MSF auction so I’ve still got the line to work with.
Just Danzig foaled safely this morning, just a few days later than expected.

Nch Seattle Sorcerer (S) x Ch Just Danzig
finalfurlong.org/viewhorse.php?horse=1857
Second foal for MSP dam. JD’s two older half-sisters in the paddocks have produced five runners so far between them and are winners with one being SW, MSP so hopefully she’ll follow in their hoofsteps As this little lady’s likey to be sold at the end of the year I haven’t thought of a name for her but if anyone would like to suggest something feel free. Mum will now visit Formal Occasion.
[color=blue]1 colt, [color=red]1 filly, four to follow - next due 04/03/11
Not such good news today.
[color=red]Secret Flame foaled a stillborn colt (Sneak Peek) this morning A real shame as she was a nice mare on the track (MSW) and I have a bit of a soft spot for Sneak Peak. On the bright side though mum is ok and still a young mare so hopefully that’s her share of bad luck over and done with. She’ll be given a few weeks to recover before heading out to Stillwater for a date with TakeMeToHollywood.
howabout , Fantasia for the danzig baby , sorry for your loss , been there before its not fun
Sorry about your foal. Good luck with the Kermit breeding, though.
Our first homebred of the year has arrived

ICh. Spock ex Just A Fox (B) (Gallant Fox(S))
http://www.finalfurlong.org/viewhorse.php?horse=19366
9.2hh black colt with a stripe and hind sock. From Spock’s first crop out of a mare with three runners so far - [color=red]Ch Just Like Ice (SW,MSP-Gr1) and the winners [color=blue]Hades Return and [color=red]Crowd Teaser.
His name is Welsh for fox.
Jaffa visits Nightfight for her next breeding.
Not a good day. Burnitup had a very difficult foaling which she sadly didn’t survive. Her colt by Spock was also stillborn
Oh dear, that’s really rough. I’m so sorry for your loss.
Sorry to hear you lost both, I know it must really suck , one at a time is hard enough. My condolences for your dbl loss. Carole
Hm, that shouldn’t be possible. You either get mare death or stillborn foal. I’ll look into it, and you should get one of them alive, at least. (Will likely be the mare, since the code may not have generated racing stats for a stillborn foal, but I’ll look.)
Either way, sorry for your loss.
Looked into it, and it must’ve been a fluke in the code - Burnitup shouldn’t have died. Sadly her foal is still stillborn, but at least you still have the mare.
Yay for you I am so happy that you get your mare back!! Hope her next foaling is successful!!
Thanks for looking into it. Burnitup is indeed alive and well although showing as retired so no foal next year. But at least she is ok. Thank you all for your kind thoughts.
Ah, yes, she was due to retire later this year so you wouldn’t have gotten another foal anyway. Sorry about that.
