I think there might be an issue going on with Final Furlong breeding, but I’m not sure.
I have my stallion open for FF breedings on empty slots, but they haven’t been filled by FF horses. At first I thought I might have done something wrong as a first time stallion owner, but when I searched for weanlings and yearlings I came up nearly empty while their 2027 crop is 513 horses.
Did something go wrong with FF breedings lately? Do other stallion owners have the same issue with their slots not filling up?
I think there is a few glitches, I’ve got a couple of mares like Holy Night who say they aren’t in foal yet when you click through to breeding she’s in foal due to give birth next year.
Frustrating as it happened to a couple last year and they just didn’t foal
None of our stallions were bred to Final Furlong owned mares this year, even though they are all set up to allow it and they all had openings.
I don’t know whether Shanthi used to run the code to do these manually or if it was supposed to be automated.
I also noted that if a mare was booked to a stallion for a particular slot and that slot ended, the mare would still show as booked for that slot, whereas I’m pretty sure I remember the booking would automatically get deleted and be replaced by a Final Furlong mare.
Autobreeding has been fixed, and run through the Aug 15 breeding slot. I’m pretty sure the “use a slot if taken by a mare that never used it” logic is in place, but let me know if any of your studs still have open spots that FF mares should have taken.
I think this probably linked to the same issue but it looks like there are no FF bred weanlings this year. Just wondering if this might cause a problem down the line when filling races.
So, I mostly figured out historical breeding. Accidentally bred some 2yos as well as yearlings/weanlings.
FF shouldn’t have paid anyone for the retroactive breedings, but it did try and max out each stud’s bookings for historical years. (Wasn’t always successful because I didn’t allow inbreeding.)
