In mid-June FFCh. High Chances suffered an accident in the paddock and has been on stall rest since. While he is in good spirits, the vet doesn’t believe that he’d be able to breed comfortably in the future and it would be best to retire him at the ripe-old age of 15.
High Chances did well on the track and ran successfully in stakes races between ages 4 and 6. He was twice nominated for Horse of the Year and won numerous other Eclipse awards, including sprinter of the year 3 years running.
His success continued in the breeding shed. 1 in 4 of his foals to race have won a stakes races, and the vast majority of his foals have won at least once. Notable get includes: NCh. Notachanceinheck, NCh. Reprise, NCh. Thank Goodness, GCh. Kichiro, GCh. Taking Chances, GCh. Fly to Heaven, GCh. D’lightful, and GCh. Color By Numbers. We are incredibly grateful to stand his only (thus far) stud-qualified son, FFCh. Black Cherry, whom we hope will be as successful as his sire.
