Feedback: Horse age?

So by default, most horse stats display the age. i.e. 10yo bay stallion.

Babies, however, show up as 0yo. Would people prefer if it said Xmo instead? i.e. a January 2016 baby would show up as 6mo old colt in June 2016.

I don’t mind either way, but it could make scanning down a list of horses more challenging if 6 can mean 6 year old or 6 month old; on the other hand it could be useful to know how baby-ish a baby is.

Thoughts?

Maybe if the “Months” was in a different color font?

Perhaps, though as I’m dating a colour-blind person (and thus more aware of colour issues), I’m a bit averse to that.

I like this idea. Maybe, if we’re worried about it being confusing, you could do 0Yr, xMo instead of a color. You would only have to do that for babies though and not worry about listing the month for horses over a year.

It would be interesting to know their age in months but notnifnits going to confuse people

I agree, this would be clear.
And Count Fleet is a “76yo liver chestnut stallion”

Haha, yeah, I didn’t actually make the famous studs die (since some of them would be dead before the game began). I probably should give them death dates, though, even if it looks a bit weird to have a horse who died in 1973 siring horses in the game as late as 2012. Zombie ponies!

I’ve updated the code to show either:
Xd - if the foal is < 1 week old
Xwk - if the foal is < 1 month old
Xmo - if the foal is >= 1 month old

Haven’t yet updated the database for the beta site, though.
