Feature: Status Change

On your horse’s page, if eligible (e.g. not retired/dead), you’ll see a Change Status option

It will give you the usual options (retired / broodmare / stud), but with a bit of context.

For male racehorses, you will see what your boy needs to be a stud. Or you’ll just see the stud option if they’re fully qualified.

You can retire to stud / broodmare any time (given the right age - broodmares can retire early if they have a career-ending injury like a broken leg). Breeding will only be available when the horse is 4+ and it’s breeding season.

You can, if you want, retire babies and skip racing them altogether. Not sure how many people would be doing that, but it’s an option.

This is great! I’ve never raced a colt to stud, but I always wonder if I get one close I’d get down the rules correctly, lol. Now I won’t have to worry about missing some rule anymore!

It won’t tell you all the rules, just the next one you need to do. But it does at least give some info, vs just wondering why Stud doesn’t show up as an option like with the old app.

Hi! All the new updates on the site are awesome. I’ve received two 500 errors on different horses when I’ve tried to use status change to retire them. The horses were Mercator and Faded Twist.
