Feature: Auctions

You can now create, edit, add/remove horses, and bid in the new app.

Screenshots to come, when I have more energy to sort them out.

Create Auction

  • Link will be available on the Auctions page in the top-right if you’re allowed to create an auction (you can only have 1 upcoming auction at a time, so if you already have an auction, you can’t add another one until that one starts)
  • You can select when the auction starts, how long it runs, how much stables can spend, how many horses can be bought, and what status(es) you want to include in the auction.

Update Auction

  • You can modify any of the above values, except for status if you’ve already consigned that type of horse. e.g. if you’ve consigned a stallion to your auction, you can’t de-select the Stallion status, unless/until you remove the stallion(s) from the auction first.

Consign Horses

  • This is done via individual horse pages for now (I hope to add a bulk add page soon). If your horse is eligible for the auction (based on rules for selling the horse + auction criteria), you will see “Consign to Auction” on their page. You can select comments about the horse + add a reserve price, if allowed by the auction. Note that if you add a reserve, you will pay 10% of the reserve price to consign the horse, and will not get this back if you remove it from auction.

Un-Consign Horses

  • Up until the auction starts, you can remove a horse from the auction. If they’ve been consigned, you’ll see “Remove from Auction” instead of “Consign to Auction” on their page. Confirm that you want to do this, and the horse will be removed.

Auction Watch Page

  • Underneath your “My Stable” section, if you’ve got current bids on auctions, or are running an auction yourself, you’ll see a link for Auctions. There you’ll see all the auctions you’ve bid in or are running, and the status of all the various horses.

Bidding:

  • Should be pretty straight-forward, it’s the same as the current setup, but should give more helpful errors. If you don’t see the bidding form, you’re not allowed to bid (either you own the horse, or are the high bidder, or can’t afford what the next bid would be).
  • If you select to be notified when you are outbid, this is an in-game notification.

Shout if you have any questions.

Will we be able to continue to do this on the original format?

Do you mean in the old app? No.

These are both fixed.

I am trying to place bids on a couple of horses in the Generous Bloodstock Auction but am not seeing a way to do that. There doesn’t seem to be a BID button on either the horses pages nor the auction and neither horse currently have bids on them.

When you enter the auction, click on “View” on the far right for the horse you want to bid on, then select tab Bidding above the pedigree table.
