Yes, but in real life there are thousands of fillies bred each year, any/all of whom could breed to a stallion. Thus, even if there are a hundred colts (of varying quality) who retire to stud each year, there are way more mares who can support them. In FF, there are approximately 400-450 fillies born each year, which equates to supporting 4-5 studs retiring each year.
I guess I just don’t see the harm in letting a lot of stallions stand at stud and then letting a form of natural selection take place. If they don’t produce anything they’ll go unbred for the most part and the owner will most likely retire them - no skin off anyone’s nose.

I do really like the idea of letting real life famous stallions into the game so hooray for that!!
Why not lower the qualifications some and then make a requirement that if they aren’t bred to so many outside mares in a set span they have to retire, or it make it so that studs have to retire at a certain age? That would keep from an overflow of stallions
I will repeat : I have no intention of changing (either raising or lowering) the qualifications required to retire a colt to studship.
Keep in mind, guys, that prior to the 10 stakes win rule, FF was on sim-time, so there were only 12 chances per year to race your horse, and that was only if you ran him every month, which caused issues.
