Stillwater farms is sad to announce that Edinburgh will not be standing for the 2025 season. He had a bad bout of colic over the holidays, and will need to take at least a season off to recover. The vet did potency analysis on him and doesn’t think he would be a viable stud after such a long time off. Hopefully he will have a long and happy retirement with our other old guys.
Oh no!!! I was wondering about that when I didn’t see him on the list of options. Guess my girls will have to find other dates. Hope he has a long and happy retirement.
Wishing him a speedy recovery and long, happy retirement!!
Sorry to hear it. hope he enjoys retirement!
So sad when I realized he had retired. Hope he has a quick recovery and spends his days happy in the fields.
Awww I was planning a breeding to him. He’s been one of my favorites for a while. Here is hoping he has a long happy life in retirement.
Hope he has a lovely retirement.
Oh no… I have one 2yo colt by him, and two yearling fillies, one of which is this colt’s full sister. I think I found Edinburgh when he was stud qualified but still a racehorse, and owned by Final Furlong for some reason… then he went to an auction.
I also bred Ch. Béthune, now a multi-millionaire winner of Belmont Stakes, Prince of Wales Stakes and Travers Stakes, owned by Littlefield. Actually I would love to buy him back, but I guess they’re not selling… I do hope that Béthune will qualify for stud!
