Dracorex Hogwartsia

I don’t know about you guys, but I was wild about dinosaurs when I was a kid, and I still like looking at fossils and things like that. They’ve discovered a new one and actually decided to name it in honor of Hogwarts. Ms. Rowling has even given it her blessing. Too funny.

You can find the story here …It’s definitely one of the cooler looking dinosaurs IMHO.

Haha that’s really funny!  Really neat!

I wanted to be an archaeologist. I still do, but I never really liked Biology. It was boring to me. -shrugs- I’m very amused that they decided to name it after hogwarts. Next one will probably be named after Lord of the ring, or Chronicles of Narnia. :stuck_out_tongue: The Aslandasaur, looks like a lion…but it’s not… ::)

I never really thought archeology had that much to do with Biology. I like both, but as a biologist, I can assure you I know very little to nothing about archeology and I doubt (m)any archeologists would have a clue what my research means.   I think all you need to do archeology is a love of it and a good eye for catching subtle differences.  (As well as looking good in Indiana Jones type hats!)

I thought being able to look good in those hats, while swinging from a vine and fighting off mummies was what made you qualified to be an archeologist.  You mean there’s more to it than that?

Archaeologists don’t study dinosaurs.

Paleontologists study dinosaurs.

Archaeologists study the material remains of human history. And biology is very definitely an element…some archaeologists specialize in identifying pollen found on digs (Can tell us what crops people were growing), others in studying human remains to work out demography, common illnesses, etc. My interest was always in standing buildings, though.
