La Mariposa means ‘the butterfly’, so I got to thinking social butterfly, which was taken. Somehow, I arrived at this name instead.
Some good news and some sad news today. The colts are starting to make a come-back, but one of our younger broodmares passed during foaling this morning. There’s another causing a lot of grief currently, as she’s 13 days overdue.

I am SO excited about this girl, small as she is. Her dam is, to date, the best horse I’ve had the privilege of owning since I joined the game, and also quite possibly my favorite. She had a long, brilliant career. I’m hoping that this filly can live up to her parents’ running ability.
