Clicker Lab 2028 foals

I’ve been away for Easter and I came back to three new foals.

QUAUHTLATOA
GCh. Dark Debate x Ch. Crownette (G) - Giant’s Causeway (S)
8.2h brown colt

1/2 brother to Ch. A Room Of Her Own, GCh. Aufeinander. Quauhtlatoa was a tlatoani (king, ruler) of the Nahua city-state Tlatelolco. Name means “speaking eagle”.

ROYAL LIBRARY
NCh. Allinvain x Ch. Portofino (S) - WCh. Strider (S)
9h blue roan filly

1/2 sister to GCh. Béthune. Name refers to books written by the pre-Columbian Maya civilization in Maya hieroglyphic script on Mesoamerican bark paper. Such codices were the primary written records of Maya civilization, together with the many inscriptions on stone monuments and stelae that survived. Three fully Mayan codices have been preserved. Most were destroyed by the conquistadors. One of them, named The Dresden Codex, was bought by the royal library of the court of Saxony in Dresden in 1739.

SANTA MUERTE
NCh. Tense Imagination x Ch. Church is a Stage - GCh. Stagehand (S)
8h chestnut filly

Santa Muerte, is a new religious movement, female deity, and folk saint in Mexican folk Catholicism and Neopaganism. A personification of death, she is associated with healing, protection, and safe delivery to the afterlife by her devotees. Despite condemnation by the Catholic Church and Evangelical pastors, her cult has become increasingly prominent since the turn of the 21st century. Santa Muerte is also revered and seen as a saint and protector of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) communities in Mexico, since LGBTQ+ people are considered and treated as outcasts by the Catholic Church, evangelical churches, and Mexican society at large.

Tlazōlteōtl is a deity of sexuality, vice, purification, steam baths, lust, filth, and a patroness of adulterers in Aztec mythology. Polytheism really provides a god for every occasion.

Thanks, I was excited about Santa Muerte as it seems to fit with parents names too!

More T-foals!

TIKAL
GCh. Cool Crusader x GCh. Wonder Woman - NCh. Black Warrior
10h black filly

Tikal is the ruin of an ancient city found in a rainforest in Guatemala. Tikal was the capital of a conquest state that became one of the most powerful kingdoms of the ancient Maya. Though monumental architecture at the site dates back as far as the 4th century BC, Tikal reached its apogee during the Classic Period, c. 200 to 900.
This filly is 3x3 inbred to What’s It Worth and should love turf.

TZITZIMITL
FFCh. I’m No Fool (S) x Ch. Der Blaue Engel - NCh. Quintet
8.3h bay filly

In Aztec mythology, a Tzitzimitl is a monstrous deity associated with stars. They were depicted as skeletal female figures wearing skirts often with skull and crossbones designs. The Tzitzimimeh were female deities, and as such related to fertility.

TLALOC
NCh. Too Stressful (B) x Ch. Satin on Steel - Ch. Magic Cross (S)
9.1h black colt

Tláloc is the god of rain in Aztec religion. He was also a deity of earthly fertility and water, worshipped as a giver of life and sustenance. This came to be due to many rituals, and sacrifices that were held in his name. There were sculptures dedicated to offerings to Tlaloc, and possibly other gods, called chac-mool. The chac-mool was a reclining figure with its head facing 90 degrees from the front, leaning on its elbows and supporting a bowl or a disk upon its chest.

This may or may not be the last name that starts with T.

TLALTECUHTLI
GCh. Quirky Scent x Ch. Mi’ja - Mucho Macho Man
9.3h dark bay filly

Sometimes referred to as the “earth monster,” Tlaltecuhtli’s dismembered body was the basis for the world in the Aztec creation story of the fifth and final cosmos. In carvings, Tlaltecuhtli is often depicted as an anthropomorphic being with splayed arms and legs, and considered the source of all living things.

One of the largest modern debates surrounding Tlaltecuhtli is over the deity’s gender. While Tlaltecuhtli’s name may be interpreted as masculine, the deity is most often depicted with female characteristics and clothing. According to Miller, "Tlaltecuhtli literally means ‘Earth Lord,’ but most Aztec representations clearly depict this creature as female, and despite the expected male gender of the name, some sources call Tlaltecuhtli a goddess.

8.3h black filly

Name means “pillow”, “soft” in zoque. This filly has Cigar in 4th generation in her damline, and her paternal granddam Ch. Isetnofret was also inbred to Cigar via NCh. Lucky Cigar. I don’t know if these generations aren’t too distant to make any impact but we’ll see!

9.3h dark bay filly

Viridiana is a 1961 Spanish-Mexican comedy-drama film directed by Luis Buñuel. In the film, a novice nun is instructed to spend some time at the mansion of her reclusive uncle, her last living relative and main financial support. The uncle attempts to rape her, tries to convince her to live with him, and then commits suicide. Viridiana shares his inheritance with an illegitimate cousin, and decides against becoming a nun.

VALENTINA RAMíREZ
GCh. Northern Invasion x Ch. Romeo’s Girl (S) - Romeo (S)
9.1h bay filly

1/2 sister to Ch. Superconductor, Ch. Dreaming Out Loud.
Valentina Ramírez Avitia (14 February 1893 – 4 April 1979) was a Mexican revolutionary and soldadera. She was known as “La Valentina” and “La leona de Norotal”. She fought against the Federales in the Mexican Revolution at a time when women were not allowed to join the army. Her parallels to the story of Hua Mulan lead to her modern nickname of “The Mexican Mulan”.

There is a 1966 movie about these women titled “La soldadera” in which my favourite Mexican singer, Chavela Vargas, is starring:
