I will continue to name them alphabetically, as it keeps them ordered by time of birth later… In the past two years Ch. Crownette was always the first to foal, but this time it’s Easy Union who used to foal soon after. And it’s another boy from her.
[color=blue]Assuri - 8.3h chestnut colt by WCh. Drum Major, out of Easy Union (gold ranked). He is named after a real life foal of a mare that I used to own.
[color=red]Azhagu - 9.2h dark bay filly by Frankel, out of Magic Feather (GCh. Must Be Magic). Her dosage shows that she should have some talent for long distance, perhaps after her grandsire who is a Chef-de-Race for “solid” distance. Azhagu means “beauty” in Tamil language.
First Al Mundhir foal of the year! I thought there can be two Captains in this year’s crop
[color=blue]Cap’n Muncher - 9.1h chestnut colt by NCh. Al Mundhir, out of Ch. Ophelia (Class Act). Ophelia has five foals but this one is the first at Clicker Lab. She’s Mult. Stakes Winner, Mult. Stakes Placed. Name invented by Shanthi’s autocorrect when she was requesting a breeding to Al
Ch. Ophelia will be bred to NCh. Al Mundhir again.
[color=blue]Cop in Morgue - 9.1h black colt by ICh. Unabridged, out of GCh. The Woman In Black (Black Gold). He’s a full brother to 2yo filly Gallimaufry. The oldest foal from The Woman In Black is now 3yo filly Tipping the Velvet, which was unraced as a 2yo as she was very tiny; but she’s entered in her first race now. The colt is the first black foal from this dam, so we named him after a character from “Men in Black”. Fun quote with him:
Dr. Weaver: What’s with the cat?
Cop in Morgue: Oh, the cat. Yeah, well, there’s a problem with the cat. Sign here.
Dr. Weaver: [signing] What’s the problem with the cat?
Cop in Morgue: It’s your problem. [leaves chortling at his own joke]
Dr. Weaver: I hate the living.
GCh. The Woman In Black will be bred to NCh. Space Chips.
