✅ Broodmare Retired Too Early

Description of Issue

My mare Moon and Stars just gave birth today and was automatically retired from being a broodmare. This was her first foal and she is only 6 yrs old. I didn’t receive a notification on my Overview page that she had been retired either.

Just want to double check if this is a bug or not?

It’s a bug, I need to investigate.

okay perfect thanks Shanthi

I guess I haven’t been getting notifications for my broodmares that have been retired after foaling either now that I think about it. I think all the mares have been over 10 or 12 though.

@rainee

In the FAQ it says all broodmares will be forced to retire between the ages of 15-25 years of age so I think unless you retired them earlier than that, they shouldn’t technically be automatically retired any earlier than that. Unless things have changed since.

I’ve un-retired her, plus a bunch of other mares who had invalid retirement dates.

(This may have included some mares that weren’t auto-retired, so if your mare suddenly pops up as an active broodmare again, feel free to re-retire her.)

Thank you Shanthi!!!

I was wondering why my list of unbred mares had suddenly exploded. :laughing:
