Oh no! I’m sorry to hear that! Feel better!
Ouch. How’d you do that? Hope you feel better soon!
Thanks guys
i tripped over my dog during our dog agility class. happened so fast and fell so hard. shattered my upper right arm in about 3 places. they have me in a gavity cast, which onlu goes around my wrist. by hanging my arm with iy tied to my chest, it resets the bones. going to be a very painful couple of months
Ouch! That totally stinks. I hope it heals quickly!
I totally understand how dog agility can be dangerous. Of course, most of our danger comes in when we have contests diving through the tire, taking on the see-saw, clearing the broad jump… and I’m not even going to mention the A-frame situation! (I think we have more than the dogs do…)
Feel better soon!
My sympathies are a little late I think!! That is horrid!! I broke my hand at Christmas. Well you were having fun before you broke it right?? At least yours is a better excuse. Mine is this and it is true: My friend kicked me in the hand!!
Well I hope that you get better!!
Jodi
Sorry to hear about your arm. My pom is in agility classes. Sorry to but into your post, but how finished was your dog before you started competing in beginner classes, without the weave poles? Hope you feel better soon.
Sorry, I just read your post… many moons later. I went through obedience classes before heading into beginner agillity. We stay in the beginner classes for approx. 6 months before heading into intermediate classes. We were going to join our first competition when the big oops happened, but it took about 1.5 years of training before we were ready to go into competition. Jazz ( my Border collie) pretty much knows all the obsticles by name, but she’s an odd dog to run. I realize its because she was the first dog I trained, with my next dog, I know what I don’t want to do, so that dog will probably end up being a better agility dog. She spins, she crowds, she knows how to work away… but keeping her away can be difficult. She hates the weave poles, which is probably why I broke my arm at the weave poles. She tries to rush through them and we have to restart about 3 times before she’ll slow down to go through them properly. I haven’t run her in three months, obviously… my father has taken her over, along with his other dog. She’s his dog anyways, so that’s fine. I’m not allowed to do any running sport or horse back riding for at least another 4 months (as of July)… which kinda sucks, but things gotta heal.
