It was both an exciting and tragic early morning at Black Storm as five of our mares foaled. Unfortunately, Keep Quiet lost her Dark Demand colt. Mommy is healthy, though, so we’re very happy there. She’s been sent to our home stallion Joyeux Oiseau for a 2016 baby.

[color=blue]Hasty Blend (Seattle Sorcerer x Castleonacloud). Castleonacloud kept those legs crossed for a few extra days before delivering this gorgeous dark bay colt. As seeing ‘Seattle’s Best’ was taken as a name, we kept to the coffee/drink route with naming him. Castleonacloud has been sent to Sleipnir for a 2016 baby.
[color=blue]Stained Glass (Crystal Rainbow x Dancinginthedark, by Black Gold). Dancinginthedark delivered a lovely big colt by Crystal Rainbow. His name is a little tentative since we’re jumping between it and Glass Blower (or any other suggestion, lol). Dancinginthedark has been sent to King David for a 2016 foal.
[color=red]Himinbiarga (I’m Your Angel x Pink Ace, by Class Act). We were really excited for this foal and will shamelessly admit we were ecstatic Pink Ace delivered a filly. Himinbiarga, whose name roughly translates to “of heaven’s height,” is a 3/4 sister to MSW Beau Esprit. Pink Ace has been sent to Long Live the King for 2016.
[color=blue]Saint Joseph (Holy Bull x I’m Yours Joe). Our first foal out of I’m Yours Joe, who was a gift from Bam. He’s a half-sib to standing MSW stallion I’m Your Angel, and stakes winner Wizard Joe. I’m Yours Joe has been sent to Foolhardy as her next date.

She’ll be a small thing once she reaches maturity (expected to grow no bigger than 15.2hh) but we’re hoping that just means less wind resistance 
Death Becomes Her has been shipped off with a date to The Fighting Fifty.

[color=red]Famously (Smart Strike x Von Hollywood, by Planet Hollywood). Von Hollywood kept her legs crossed for over 2 weeks past her due date, but all turned out well! The filly is from Smart Strike’s second crop. Von Hollywood has been sent to Take Me Away for her 2016 foal.

[color=red]Reiteration (Oscillation x Sacred Dancer, by Northern Dancer). We had purchased Sacred Dancer just last month and she delivered a big filly (10hh) right around midnight. Oscillation has gotten off to a really good start in his stud career, so we’re excited to see what this girl will do. Sacred Dancer has been sent to Tottenham Hotspur for her 2016 foal.

[color=red]Scotland’s Queen (Yes It’s Paddy x Her Ladyship, by Sir Barton). This filly is a little on the smallish side, but she’s a spitting image of her mom and mommy hit 15hh and stopped. She’ll be consigned to the Youngstock auction at the end of the year. Her Ladyship has been sent to Magic Glory for her 2016 foal.

We received a bit of a shock when we saw two of our mares had delivered - and they weren’t due until April! Everyone’s healthy though, so we’re happy there. Though we’re beginning to suspect there’s something in the grass because it’s filly city here!
[color=red]Tango Under Lights (Black Light II x Choreographer). Foaled nearly 3 weeks early, she’s definitely a premie at 7.3hh. She’s out of my favorite mare and a half-sib to a SW and a 3yo colt who is finding his feet this year. Choreographer has been sent to Stagehand for her 2016 foal.
[color=red]Velvet Lounge (Dark Demand x Jazzify, by Jazz It Up). Also born nearly 3 weeks early, this filly still came out big at 8.3hh. Named after a Jazz club in Illinois, Velvet Lounge is Jazzify’s third foal. Jazzify has been offered for public lease for 2016.

She delivered a nice, 8.1hh colt we’ve named Any Given Shot. He has been consigned to the foal auction in December. Given Melody has been sent to Almost Precious for a 2016 foal.
