When I go as if to place a bid in Windward farms auction this comes up;
You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ‘Wind Farm Auction%’ AND Description LIKE ‘%purchase%’ AND (Date >= ‘20’ at line 3 - SELECT COUNT(*) FROM ff_budgets WHERE Stable = 2554 AND Description LIKE ‘%Gust O’Wind Farm Auction%’ AND Description LIKE ‘%purchase%’ AND (Date >= ‘2012-06-07’ AND Date <= ‘2012-06-14’)
HELP
Posing in multiple threads will not make me fix the bug faster. In fact, despite this being literally a 30 second fix (likely taking me longer to type this post than to fix the bug), I am now going to watch the Belmont before fixing it.
Read the forum rules, please.
Shanthi,
I was checking the Gust O’ Wind Farms auction to see how the bidding was going on the horse I was bidding on, Goldination.
I clicked on the “View Your Auction Watch Page” link from the My Stable page, which indicated that the bidding has ended for the above horse and that I won the auction. However, when I looked at the General Statistics for my stables, the number of horses I have hasn’t changed, nor has my budget been reduced by the sale price for the horse. The horse also doesn’t show up on my list of racehorses.
I tried to go into the Auction to see if maybe I had misunderstood what the Auction Watch Page was saying and got the following message:
You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ‘Wind Farm Auction%’ AND Description LIKE ‘%purchase%’ AND Stable = 137’ at line 3
What is it with this auction? I can’t remember any other auction in the past year with as many problems as this one? Even though Unicorn reported the original bug as being with the Windward Farm auction, I think that it was actually the Gust O’Wind Auction that had the problem (at least, that was the one I had trouble with - the Windward Farm Auction went fine for me).
BTW - I clicked on the other four auctions that are currently listed in the Auctions section and they all open OK. Whatever the bug is, it seems to be limited to this one only. I don’t know if that will help you to isolate it quicker?
it’s doing that to me too
Yet again, read the forum rules.
Unicorn - I know that you are new and probably haven’t figured out all the rules as yet. There are two big no-no’s about the Forum (apart from the usual ones about Spam, Obscenities, etc) that will really p*** Shanthi off:-
- Don’t post the same message in two different topics.
- If somebody posts a message about an error that they are getting and you get the same error, don’t post a message saying “Me too”. Chances are that if one person is getting it, we all will. If you have an obviously different error related to the same feature, then it’s OK to post the new error and ask if it could be related to the first error.
Shanthi has a life outside of FF so cannot monitor the Forum 24x7x52 (although there are times when it appears that she must be). Be assured, she will get around to answering any posts that are directed (either directly or indirectly) to her, although, as she said on Saturday, if people abuse the above two rules, she’ll drop the reported bug lower down her priority list.
Don’t take offense about it. I’m coming up to my 1-year anniversary in FF and I’ve been “shouted at” for not checking the Forum Rules a few times since I started. I’ve learnt to be patient and the bugs will be fixed.
Lewis -
Bug’s been fixed. The reason it’s this auction only is the ’ in Gust O’Wind Stable’s name. When server settings change (which apparently happened), apostrophes get stupid. At some point, I’ll be awesome and update all the code to be happy regardless of server settings, but that has yet to happen, obviously.
[As a bonus, I found/fixed another bug, which applied to all auctions.]
