As I am having my worst ever year in the game I need to reduce the number of horses I have as i don’t want to go broke  :frowning:
I have already retired some but would like the others to have a chance with another owner. I have put a mix of horses on my auction page but still want to sell a couple more broodmares. However thy are both still in foal and I want to keep the foals so they will be for sale after foaling.  They are:

  • Farewell a created mare with a respectable track record. She has only one foal a yearling by Black Warrior
  • Flash Past also created and with no foals racing yet

$5,000 each to be sold once they have foaled early July

Hi Grace,

Would you be interested in selling the following broodmares:-

Double Shot (Double Cross x Moving Statement)
Charm Bracelet (Class Act x Sacred Dancer)

I know that they are both in foal for next year and understand that you will probably want to keep the foals. I believe that there is a way to set up a sale for a broodmare in foal so that the foal stays with the selling owner.

Let me know if this is a possibility.

There’s not. The workaround is to sell the mare in-foal and have the new owner sell the foal back when it’s 6 months old (and can be sold). Or you wait for the mare to foal before you sell.

Thanks for clearing that up, Shanthi. I thought that I had seen some discussion some time ago about it, but I guess I was wrong. No problem.

Grace, if you are willing to sell either or both of the mares, whichever way you want to work it out with the foals is fine with me.
