A Girl and Five Brave Horses

Has anyone heard of or read this book?

It is the auto biography of Sonora Carver, and it also inspierd the Disney movie, Wild Hearts Cannot Be Broken. The movie that lead me to fall in love with horses when I was little  :slight_smile:

Anyways this book was published in the 60’s but is now out of print :frowning:

I’ve looked for it everywhere on line and the cheapest I have found a used copy was in the $300’s but I’ve seen some of the copys that are in better condition listed in the $500’s. I’ve checked out my school and local library as well and had no luck. Sooooo I was super excited when I found a copy on ebay with the bidding only at like $37. Now I really don’t have any money to be spending on out of print books, BUT I put in a max bid of $50 because I want to read this book soooo bad. Well the last I checked the bidding was at $81  :-[  And I just can’t justify spending $100 on this book right now.

I really wish they would put this book back in print, but I guess I’ll just have to settle for watching the movie again. sigh

I was just looking into this the other day, since I re-watched Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken.

There’s a yahoo group (divinghorses) that’s trying to get the book reprinted.  Obviously no success so far.

If you can track down a reference librarian, they might be able to find a library with the book in your area, and get it transferred to you.

That would be awesome … to bad things like that never seem to work lol

But yah I’ll keep trying to track it down through a library, and hey who knows maybe they’ll actually put it back in print  :slight_smile:

Well it’s currently at $152 on ebay w/ 5 hours left to bid and sadly that’s about as cheap as you’ll find it  ::)

I guess I’m a little bitter lol
