9/5

After quite the hiatus, I’m trying to ease back in.  I will likely have to trim back my herd (A LOT…if I have the willpower) to help transition, but time will tell.

Meanwhile, I got my older ponies who weren’t ready to retire/leased out entered into upcoming races, so we actually have two (surprisingly good!) results to report today:

[color=blue]GCh. Zadar (5yo, What’s Your Point x Adriatic Swan) WON the G2 Canterbury Stakes, meaning he just needs a stakes place at any level to reach studhood if my calculations are correct.  Woohoo!

[color=red]Ch. Worth A Treasure (5yo, Worth My While x Highland Treasure) finished 3rd in her OA.  Only 4 points from her next title…

7 of 9 hit the board, and we promptly blew all our earnings today on pending Select Auction bids, haha.

WINS
[color=red]Lillyofthevalley (3yo, Stressed) in her NW2.

2NDs
Recently-acquired [color=red]Harmony Hill (3yo, King David) in her NW3.
[color=red]Hot Chili Feathers (2yo, Stressed) in her OA.
[color=red]Honeybird (3yo, Joyeux Oiseau) in her OA.

3RDs
[color=red]Rose Gold (2yo, Holy Bull) in her Maiden.

4THs
[color=red]Carry the Day (3yo, V is for Victory) in the G1 Man O’War Stakes.
[color=red]Pacific Theatre (3yo, Rock of Gibraltar) in the G1 Gazelle Stakes.

30(14)-7(2)-5(3)-3(1)-2(1) $942,800

A good day with 7 winners and two horses running in our colors becoming Stud-Qualified.

Wins
[color=blue]G.Ch. Ancient Magic, (3yo, Magic Glory) in the G1 Man O’War Stakes. This was his 7th win this year, all SW, and his 6th G1W, and took his earnings this year over the $2m mark. With this win, he has become Stud-Qualified, however, he will be kept in training next year. He will be headed to France for the G1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe then will return to Belmont for one of the Breeders’ Cup Turf races.
[color=red]Ch. Finesse (Leased from Ivy Creek), (3yo, Magic Cross) in the G1 Gazelle Stakes. Her second consecutive win, both SW, and 3rd win in her last four races (including 2 G1W).
[color=blue]G.Ch. Flaming Parachute, (4yo, Major’s Flight) in an OA. After winning 4 races last year, this is his first win for this year.
[color=blue]Radagast, (3yo, Highland Magic) in an OA. He is unbeaten in his 3 races in our colors.
[color=blue]Ch. Fighting Back, (6yo, The Fighting Fifty) in an OA.
[color=blue]Dionysus, (3yo, Long Live The King) in an NW3. His second consecutive win and 3rd win in 4 races this year.
[color=red]Olivia Cromwell, (2yo, Mantle of Power) in an NW3.

Seconds
[color=blue]G.Ch. Franco Classico (Leased from Ivy Creek), (3yo, I’m A Classic) in the G1 Woodward Stakes. This was the last SP that he needed to make him Stud-Qualified. He will now be shipped back to the Farm for a rest before heading to Belmont for the G1 Jockey Club Gold Cup followed by one of the Breeders’ Cup Dirt races.
[color=red]Ch. MacNamara’s Band, (3yo, Magic Glory) in the G1 Gazelle Stakes.
[color=blue]Epiphany, (2yo, Blue Smoke) in the G3 Black Opal Stakes.
[color=red]Ch. Whats Believeable, (6yo, What’s Debatable) in an OA.
[color=red]Bonnie Major, (2yo, Major’s Flight) in an NW3.

Thirds
[color=blue]G.Ch. Too Stressful, (4yo, Stressed) in the G1 Woodward Stakes.
[color=blue]Ch. Iconic (Leased from Ivy Creek), (3yo, Silver Charm) in an OA.
[color=blue]Ancient Warrior, (2yo, Black Warrior) in an OA.

Fourths
[color=red]Ch. Wonder Woman, (3yo, Black Warrior) in the G1 Garden City Breeders’ Cup.
[color=blue]Show Attitude, (3yo, Bellagio) in an OA.

Alyssa - If you do decide to trim back your herd, can I please get first refusal for any of the horses that I am leasing from you. BTW - Even though he didn’t win today, you should be thrilled with the news about Franco.

Yay, go Zadar! His little sister is proud of him! And well she’s not that little anymore, a yearling already.

We entered only one filly - [color=red]Ch. Lointaine (Octagonal) finished 2nd/10 in Gr. 1 Garden City Breeders’ Cup
and I’m super happy about that, as the competition was tough. Congratulations Fox Run for the win!

Of course, Lewis!  That would only be fair after everything you’ve done for them!

Thanks Hilda
