9/21

Good efforts by the ponies today, six out and only one didn’t bring home any money.

[color=red]Beautiful Basic (3yo Turn N Burn) won her OA. [color=red]Redheaded Princess (3yo Boldness Shows) chased her home in 2nd.

[color=red]Fabulous Fairy (2yo What’s Your Point) took on the boys and won her OA.

[color=red]High Expectations (4yo Double Cross) won her starter allowance.

[color=red]Send Me Flowers (5yo Sadlers Wells) ran 3rd in the ungraded Schenectady stakes.

Not much luck.

2yo [color=red]Ch. Iyaiyai finished 2nd/12 in open allowance. Against the boys and without a whip, so it’s a good effort at least. Her dam [color=red]Always In Trouble is consigned to the 2017 Annual Select Auction!

4yo [color=red]Cabernet was 6th/12 in open allowance steeplechase.

4yo [color=red]Ch. Embellished was 8th/10 in Gr. 1 Flower Bowl Invitational.

Ha miserable day! Normally the girls bring it home for us but not today :confused:

3(1)-0-0-0-0

Two of our 2yo fillies tanked and [color=red]Aman 4yo (Almost Home) only managed 7th in the 10.5 furlongs Flower Bowl Invitational

6 of 8 brought home a check, with 4 actually hitting the board. Not bad! Definitely a boy’s day for once.

[color=blue]Anduril (3yo, Strider) won his first race with us, which was incidentally his Maiden!

[color=blue]Stressful Reality (2yo, Stressed) was 2nd/11 in his OA.
[color=blue]Rock Stardom (3yo, Devil May Care) was 2nd/14 in his OA.

[color=green]Armageddon (4yo, Stagehand) ran 4th/7 in his NW3.

[color=green]Deign to Tempt (4yo, Temptation) was 5th/8 in his OA.
[color=blue]Heated Debate (2yo, What’s Debatable) ran 5th/14 in his Maiden.

Also-Rans: [color=red]So She Says (2yo Rumor Has It; 8th/12 OA), [color=red]Espionage (2yo Slew O’Scots; 14th/14 Maiden).

I guess I’m in good company, at least.  Dismal day for us, with only ONE on the board…

WINS

[color=red]That’s All Folks (2yo, Take Me Away) won her NW2, breaking her maiden in her first attempt.

OFF THE BOARD
Ch. Banafrit (5yo, Magic Cross) finished 5th in her OA.  She was recently purchased as a brood prospect for next spring.
Ripped Jeans (2yo, Witness) finished 5th in her NW2.  This was her first start, and she may still be immature.
Sportsmanship (2yo, Player) was 5th in the G2 Pago Pago Stakes.
Montalvo (3yo, Point Given) was 7th in her OA.
Hawaiian Ice (5yo, Bold Ruler) was 8th in her OA.  She’s also retirement bound in the spring.
Grotte de Cussac (2yo, Doodles) was 8th in his maiden, his first attempt.
Demurely (2yo, Highland Magic) was 11th in her maiden, her first attempt.

Sigh.

A pretty good day. Although we had no wins, we did have quite a few SP’s and our horses brought home just under $1/2m in earnings. A couple of our Breeders’ Cup hopefuls ran below par, however, we did have another horse being stud-qualified.

Nothing great but one win from a girl that’s had mo ths off

[color=red]Ch. Wishing on Sunday she not only won her race she set a speed record and won by 3 1/2 lengths , 5.0 furlongs ,Turf ,0:58.670

[color=red]Fangtasia (stressed) was 3rd in a maiden

[color=blue]Total Eclipse (my lucky day)  was 4th in an Nw-3

I am pleased with today. I haven’t exactly been on top of things so today was way better than I could have hoped for

6-2-1-0-0 $50,000

[color=red]A.P. Gin to Win (2yr, A.P. Indy) this is the first foal out of my original game mare Juniper. It is exciting to win a race when you have been waiting three years for it! There were some well bred fillies in the race too so I hope this isn’t a fluke.

Of course there were others who ran well (and some not) but this is the one I was most excited over. Woo hoo!

How many is that so far this year Lewis?

[color=blue]Away The Lads is the fourth one qualified this year, although, as he is only 3, he will be kept in training next year and won’t go to the Breeding Sheds until the following year.

Well done Lewis :slight_smile:

Decent day.

18(6)-3(1)-2-4(1)-1 $193,900

WINS:
[color=blue]Sindar (2yo, Strider) in a NW1.

[color=blue]Lost Continent (2yo, Dark Continent) in an OA.

[color=blue]Bravado (2yo, Foolhardy) in the Pago Pago Stakes.

PLACES:
[color=blue]Gilded Escape (3yo, Take Me Away) in a NW3.

[color=blue]War Memorial (3yo, Dark Continent) in a SA.

SHOWS:
[color=blue]Sand Castle (2yo, Crystal Rainbow) in a NW3.

[color=red]Hemisphere (3yo, Octagonal) in an OA.

[color=blue]Certain Death (2yo, Ring of Fire) in a NW3.

[color=red]Reckless Faerie (2yo, Giant’s Causeway) in the Magic Night Stakes.

FOURTH:
[color=red]Reigning Star (2yo, TakeMeToHollywood) in a NW2.

The highlight of the day was [color=red]Fights Just Begun (2yo, Rahy) winning her second stakes race, the Magic Night Stakes.  I shipped her to Australia for a series of 3 2yo filly races, and I was worried she wouldn’t earn back her plane ticket, but her performance has far exceeded my expectations, with 2 wins and 1 place.

[color=blue]Mood Indigo (3yo, All Jazzed Up) won his NW3 over jumps.

[color=red]Secret Morning (2yo, Government Secret), my only other 2 year old who has shown any promise so far, ran 2nd in a maiden race, her second 2nd in a row.

[color=blue]Forest Guardian (3yo, Oscillation) ran 2nd in his NW2 over jumps.  He far prefers placing to winning, with a record this year of 12-2-5-3-2, but he’s never been out of the money, so I can’t complain too much.

[color=red]Crosspoint (4yo, Point Given) ran 3rd in an OA.  She’s had a rough time making the transition from NWs to OAs, so I’m happy with this performance.

[color=red]Comedy Queen (3yo, High Chances) ran 4th in a NW2.  Still trying to figure her out.

Also ran:

[color=blue]Last Shadow (2yo, Seattle Sorcerer) 10th in a maiden.

[color=blue]No Second Chances (4yo, High Chances, leased from Coleman Branch) 8th in an OA.
