I didn’t get much free time to do entries, so only one of mine ran:

[color=blue]Ch. Zadar (3yo, What’s Your Point) won the G2 Jerome Stakes, his third stakes win. He’s still undefeated this year, so he’s one to watch.

That’s nice! I’m going to have his full sibling next year

So I saw!  Smart move.
Apparently I’ve sold off a number of great broodmares, his dam included.  Figures!  ::)
I can’t wait to see the baby in the spring.

That’s why I hoard mares. Of course, then I sell their offspring who go on to become amazing after a few lacklustre years with me.

I’m planning to retire a broodmare which is “suddenly” silver ranked… I don’t remember her being even bronze

Don’t you just love when they magically figure it out after you’ve let them go? Lately I’ve just been making a list of horses to sell, and some of my ponies must be able to read because a few have made drastic changes after their names were written there.

The goal is/was to keep the race herd size to a “manageable” size by controlling the number of 2yos coming in each year… I think I’m very close to becoming a broodmare hoarding convert, though!

I gave up on that goal at least a decade ago. Now I’m just happy if all my 2yos can get to run as babies - though a lot of them do get left on the shelf for quite a while if their first (or second) start is uninspiring.
