This is a little soon but I’m excited so I’ll start this thread
[color=red]Estimated Prophet, my on-again-off-again filly, finally got her Champion status! She’s really been on the game these past few races. I entered her in a Stakes last month to see if she would respond to pressure and since then she’s been great! She took a 3rd in her first graded stakes which finally pushed her points over the 100 level.
Ascorbicus took a 4th in his Stakes which made me breathe a sigh of relief. I claimed him because he had 3 speed records but I gave him a really long time off since he hadn’t gotten a break in about six months. It didn’t really seem to be paying off but this looks like he may have gotten the hang of the track again.

Dash of Sugar and Mocktail ran against each other in their allowance with Sugar taking an 8th and Mocktail taking a 2nd. He was only a nose away from the leader and continues to be just an awesome consistent money winner for him. He’s shying away from the winner’s circle but usually only just barely. I can’t tell if he’s just being nice to these other horses by letting them win or what I think Sugar needs some time at the farm though…
Delaware Bound finished a dismal 8th/10 in the GIII Best Pal Stakes. He was running well up until the final furlong then faded badly. He’s being shipped home as we speak for 2 weeks then will be back for the Hopeful later this month.
After breaking his maiden last time out, Silent Miracle once again led from the start in a 7f Turf NW2 for 2yo’s and ran away from the rest of the field. 1st/5.
Subzero Justice continues to impress me with her ability. Wired the field today in the GIII Rancho Bernardo Handicap for 3yo+ F/M. If she’s ready energy wise she’ll most likely run in the Pacific Classic and try the boys once again.
Yes It’s Paddy is a nice solid stakes horse when he wants to be, ran a very nice 3rd/10 today in the GI Whitney Handicap.
Started the day taking six horses to the tracks, returned with seven. Two wins and two thirds from our six runners. Can’t complain about that.
Tottenham Hotspur and Minaret both finished 3rd in their 2YO Allowances.
Hollywood Royalty finished 4th/6 in his Starter Allowance, however, the two horses he beat both had DNF’s in their running line. He definitely could do with a rest but until Shanthi sets up the FF Stables, it is too expensive to bring him home.
Ch. Night Owl showed why he got his Champion rating in finishing 1st/14 in his Allowance. His 8th career win, unfortunately only one has been in a Stakes race, so his chances of being retired to stud are slim to none.
Tidal Wave showed that he isn’t up to Stakes class, finishing 8th/10 in the Grade 1 Whitney Handicap.
Our best performance came with the last of our six runners when Secret Society led from pillar to post to beat nine other runners in the Grade 2 Wonder Where Stakes. I only entered her in this race because her previous Owner or Breeder or whoever had nominated her for it, and, as I didn’t have any other horses nominated for major Stakes races, I figured that I’d let her take her chance. She sure came up trumps.
The new addition to our Stable is Sinbad, a 5YO colt. I claimed him because my dad used to own a horse called Sinbad in Jamaica, about thirty years ago. Purely sentimental reasons. He finished 4th/6 in his Claiming race. He has finished in the first four in 11 of his 17 races, winning three times, so hopefully he should quickly pay back his purchase price.
I was on pins and needles for a moment coming to the wire but [color=blue]SPOCK came thru to win the Breeders Stakes at Woodbine. This makes him the [color=purple]Canadian Triple Crown Champion. To say that I was more than a little scared about how he would do on the turf when I entered him would be an understatement and when a turf specialist like Prospero entered… well… I thought we were sunk. With a quarter mile to go and Prospero a nose behind I thought we would be like the Preakness and it wouldn’t happen. He now heads to the Travers Stakes and the Breeders Crown Classic against the older horses.
