yet another great day!!

Turn n’Dash (3c-Turn n’Burn x Royalle) whom i claimed 3 months ago for 10k (and has placed 3rd in 2 prior starts for me) WIRED his huge allowance race!! If he keeps this up i just can’t help but dream he’s this good as a stakes horse! I really hope he can made stud or at least a game run for it!
Whee! Super day today.
My big filly Yankee Picnic went out today in her first race ever, and wired it to bring home a win! It also marked the best debut from one of my two year olds ever. If she keeps this up she will be gold!
In the next race of the day, Acclaimed Honour went out in his second race ever. He also wired it and brought home a SF in his maiden of 99! I was very proud of him.
So all in all, a fantastic day for us. Two two year olds, two races, two wins!
After two racedays where NOBODY did anything worth mentioning (I don’t think any even brought home a 5th place paycheck, but I could be wrong… Perhaps they were mad at not getting to run as often as usual?), we FINALLY had a great day:
Only had time to get one entry sent out, and that’s only because we’ve been eyeing this race for her since springtime. 5YO [color=red]Madd Karol has been uber consistant this year, and today’s efforts were no different. She broke fast, then was caught in a 4-way dead heat at the 10f pole before really digging in for the final furlong and winning by a margin of over 32 lengths. And this was no ordinary allowance, either - today she ran in the G2 Set In Her Ways Stakes, the first leg of the older mare SC triple tiara. This brings her 2012 record to 8 race (7 stakes) starts…with 6 (5 stakes) wins and 1 (1 stakes) place. She doesn’t like dirt in her face, which is fine by me!!
Next, we also successfully claimed 3YO [color=blue]Trick Cat, a cute lil’ mahogany bay. Not to be outdone, he also ran to win his race. This was his second SC start ever, and I’m happy to say that, thus far, he’s been undefeated. Let’s hope he keeps it up!
It’s been a while since I posted here, so I’ll update everybody (and gush a little )… Only one for 8/20…
After Devilish Lass clinched the Diana Handicap on 07/09, we sent her back to KindleHope for some R&R. We sent her to the Personal Ensign on 08/06 as the real test: Could she handle the increase in distance, and therefore, be eligible for the Breeder’s Cup Filly & Mare Turf? She won, but had to fight for nearly 1/2 the race with Trippi Flowers & Silver Watagan. So, 8/20: the Beverly D. Stakes in Arlington. She won pulling away, and earned enough to officially make her a millionaire. We’re so proud of her! She’s undefeated in 2012, so we’re definitely headed for Belmont…:-D To keep her in her best form, we’ll give her some time off and aim for The Flower Bowl Invitational, prior to the BC Filly & Mare Turf. Now, I’m off to give her a nice warm bath, a bucket of carrots and some kisses before her plane-ride home…
Well I know now that [color=blue]Leave A Note prefers at least a week and a half between races, but he did well to place third in the Del Mar Breeder’s Cup Handicap just one week after his big Pacific Classic win. He’s now home and will have the week off before I ship him to Saratoga to join my two other horses, and speaking of them…
My other horse, the 3yo [color=blue]First Taken, is going to give me an online heart attack - he finished 6th and last in a 10f allowance. I decided to run him naked and without definitive orders to the jockey, and he flopped once again. I’ll probably shorten him up and shove blinkers, then a shadow roll, and then both before moving him onto the grass. He’s only 3, so I’m hoping he’ll make something of himself next year. But if he fails halfway through his four year old season, I’m taking his balls away.
