7/24

Another good day with 2 more SW and only one runner out of the money.

9(7)-2(2)-2(1)-2(1)-2(2) $401,500

Wins
[color=red]G.Ch. Hi Honey, (4yo, FFCh. Foolhardy x Cherokee Accent) 1/10 in the G1 Yorkshire Oaks in England. Her 3rd win and 2nd consecutive G1W for the year. She becomes the 9th Starfish horse to go over $1m in earnings this year.
[color=blue]Ch. Away The Lads, (3yo, NCh. Slew O’Scots x Risk Away) 1/10 in the G3 Lexington Stakes at Belmont. His 6th win (plus 1 third) in his seven races this year, all SW. He now needs only 1 SW plus 1 SP to become stud-qualified. He only needs 2 pts to get his GCh.

Seconds
[color=blue]G.Ch. Painted Raven, (5yo, NCh. Slew O’Scots x Painted Desert) 2/10 in the G2 Sparkford Chase in England.
[color=red]Major’s Luck, (2yo, GCh. Major’s Flight x Lucky Lucky Lady) 2/6 in an NW2 in England.

Thirds
[color=red]G.Ch. American Dance, (4yo, Almost Home x Northern Sister) 3/10 in the G1 Yorkshire Oaks in England behind stable-companion [color=red]G.Ch. Hi Honey. She earned her GCh title with this 3rd.
[color=blue]Gaudy Night, (2yo, ICh. Prince of Wonder x Take the Challenge) 3/11 in an NW2 at Woodbine.

Fourths
[color=blue]Hogsmeade, (3yo, ICh. Highland Magic x Blarneystone Lane) 4/12 in the G2 Bowling Green Handicap at Belmont.
[color=blue]N.Ch. Worthy Victor, (4yo, GCh. Worth My While x Decisive Victory) 4/10 in the G2 Swettenham Stud Stakes in Australia.

Also Ran
[color=blue]G.Ch. Cup O’ Tea, (6yo, GCh. Stagehand x Whistlin’ Dixie) 8/10 in the G2 Sparkford Chase in England. He continues to disappoint in the search for the last elusive SW he needs to become stud-qualified.

Not too bad a day, 7 ran well, the other 5 were a bit meh.

[color=red]Fabulous Fairy (2yo What’s Your Point) won her NW2 :slight_smile:

[color=blue]Dark Spell (3yo Highland Wizard) won his NW2 :slight_smile:

[color=red]Half Moon Bay (3yo Take Me Away) won her starter allowance :slight_smile:

[color=red]Raining on Parade (3yo Gimmie A Shot) won her NW3 by 9 lengths :slight_smile:

[color=red]Sydney Harbour (4yo Foolhardy) was 2nd in the G1 Yorkshire Oaks.

[color=red]Bold Lilly (2yo Boldness Shows) earned her 5th second place from 5 career starts.

[color=red]In The Loop (4yo As You Wish) ran 3rd in the Sparkford Chase on her stakes debut.

Only one out:

1(1) - 0 - 1(1) - 0 - 0

[color=red]Ch. Alakazam was second in the G1 Eddie Read Handicap against the boys.  This earned her the champion title.  She just recently started at the stakes level, so I’m glad to see good things coming from her.

6-1-3-0-1 $55,100

Good day here, with all but 1 horse in the money.

[color=red]Idlewild (5yo, Jazz It Up) won her OA Steeplechase in England, earning enough money to cover her plane ride home to the States.

[color=blue]So Naive (3yo, Gunningdownromance) placed 2nd in his NW2.  Since I claimed him in April, he has never been out of the top 2 in 5 races.

[color=green]Swanson (4yo, Created) placed 2nd in his NW2 as well.  Given that his namesake is Ron Swanson of Parks and Rec, I wasn’t sure how he’d respond to his recent gelding - I’m glad he’s still running for me and hasn’t gone on strike :slight_smile:

[color=green]BoyOhBoyOhBoy (5yo, Tiznow) placed 2nd in a claimer and stayed home.  Stablemate [color=green]Incidental Affair (5yo, High Chances) lagged behind, placing 11th in the same race.

[color=red]Analeigh (3yo, Dark Continent) placed 4th in an NW3.  After 4 races at Woodbine, I think she’d like to go home to the farm for a rest.

Mixed bag of nuts today.

[color=blue]Back At Ya (2yo, Secretary) broke his maiden.

[color=red]Palm Reader (Seattle Sorcerer) ran 2nd/6 in her NW1/SC debut.

[color=red]Raspberry Kisses (2yo, Point Given) was 3rd/12 in her Maiden.

[color=blue]Hypnotic (Must Me Magic) was 4th/7 in his OA.
[color=green]Legal Strategy (Highland Bandit) managed a 4th/10 in the G2 Sparkford Chase.

We’ve retired[color=green] Ch. To Alaska after another OTB finish in a claimer. We had claimed the now-6yo create gelding from FF in 2014 and he earned us over 400k.

Mostly hand undercard ponies running this week.

Winners

Arrogance (High Chances) won against the boys. Her first win in a long time.
Exuberant (High Chances) broke his maiden in an NW3.
Thank Goodness (High Chances) won her NW3, which puts her into OA territory, meaning it’s difficult to find races for her.
Cold Rain (Dark Continent) won her NW3 against the boys. She’s the last of the three fillies Singinintherain § produced before she died.
Out of the Ashes (Strider) won his OA and was the only non-2yo winner of the day.

Place
Easy Come Easy Go (Strike It Rich) has finally hit her stride after a winless 2yo season.
Desertification (Strider) hung in there for 2nd in his OA.
Memorial Day (Stars ‘N’ Stripes) placed in an OA.
City Upon a Hill (Crystal Rainbow) came in 2nd in his Gr. 2

Show
Lucretia (King David) seems to have bounced back, or at least bounced onto the board after some rest.
Tsotsi (Dark Continent) was 3rd in her NW3. I’m hoping she’ll perk up as a 4yo like her older brother, NCh. Notachanceinheck.
Fiery Foxx (Ring of Fire) also hit the board, the first time since May.
