Got some wins, which was exciting. I was really hoping for a stakes win from Fierce Light, but at least he got second. I was beginning to think he didn’t want to run anymore at the beginning of the year.

Mostly painful results, per usual. The highlight is GCh. Towering Clover’s win in the Honorable Miss Handicap.

She’s officially the first horse I’ve ever gotten to be “stud qualified,” as far as I understand the requirements. Unfortunately, she’s not a stallion. Lol. She’s got 7 stakes wins so far, including the G1 Mother Goose Stakes, and has placed 2nd or 3rd in 7 other races, including the 2022 G1 Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile. We’re about $12,000 away from getting her to millionaire status, too! Will probably just keep racing her till she starts to slow down, but I’m excited to see what she could do in the broodmare band when the time comes, too.

Man we loved 2nd but this is probably the best day we’ve had all year.

Shelbie told me to retire Devil’s Shoestring earlier this year, but he hasn’t been off the board all year and just manage a stakes placing!
