5/3

I don’t post here often because I don’t race often, due to having very little time to figure it out anymore.  Still love it though, so when I do have time, I try to figure out which horse prefers what distance and such.

My sole entry for the day…was not a case of figuring this out.  Rose in the Dark was entered into a 9.5 furlong allowance on a whim because he’d only raced once in his 2 year old season.  And I’m pleased to say, I may have accidentally figured him out in the process.  His first race of this season and he placed first!

Only one worth mentioning.

[color=blue]Prohibition (2yo AP Indy) won his NW3, making him 2 wins from 2 starts.

Yaay! Another most amazing day of the year! In a row! ;D

[color=blue]NCh. Al Mundhir won the Gr. 2 Pillar Steeplechase and became stud qualified!! He also earned his NCh. title in this race.

He’s the first stallion at Clicker Lab, I claimed him from Final Furlong for $10,000 on May 12, 2016. Now he’s just a few $ away from being a millionaire, and I think he will be a great stud; running well on dirt, turf and steeplechase.

His lineage is short, but impressive; his sire Almost Home produced two other stallions, [color=blue]GCh. Harvard Bound and [color=blue]ICh. Almost Precious. His dam Gilded Sky produced [color=blue]NCh. Hidden Destiny. They are all very sound; only Hidden Destiny had one minor injury. Al Mundhir is injury-free.

Other news:

[color=blue]Sin Infierno won NW1 for 2yo and remains unbeaten.

[color=red]Wild Ways finished 2nd/8 in a claimer, where her stablemate [color=red]Witch Blair was 4th.

[color=red]Ch. Akasha finished 6th/11 in Henry S. Clark Stakes.

Congratulations Hilda!

The girls definitely out-performed the boys big time today, with all 3 of our wins coming from the distaff side. Two more G1W, including a 1-2 in the Kentucky Oaks, and another 2yo win. Our Kentucky Derby runners ran pretty disappointingly, the best they could manage was a 3rd. Congratulations to Marshall Creek Ranch on [color=red]Funky Music (one of only two fillies in the race) winning the Kentucky Derby. Congratulations too to Hilda on [color=blue]Al Mundhir’s win and Stud-Qualification.
