5/21

Decent day here.

[color=green]Glowing Cat ran a tired 5th in his allowance, but he beat the 6th place horse by 368 1/2 lengths! lol  Maybe if he hadn;t been so busy opening up on the 6th placer he might have run. lol  He’s two so i’m ok with 5th.

[color=blue]Billabong decided today that he really really hated not having equipment and ran 13th. Its ok cause we’re still figuring this boy out.

[color=red]Fatehasfoundme must love Woodbine! She won her maiden in only her 2nd start out as a 2yo by 79 1/2 lengths (and she did that in 2 furlongs as she was dead heating the 2nd place finisher at the 4f pole. lol) Good girl here. An allowance and maybe a stakes this summer.

[color=blue]Smoked Wood ran a solid 2yo style 4th. A little more work to do on this boy.

Momma’s Gift wasn’t up to running with the big boys today in the GII Peter Pan finishing 7th/10. We’ll take him back to allowances and see if we can get his confidence up.

Recently claimed Spring Fling ran a nice 3rd/6 in a maiden against older horses and males.

After breaking her maiden last time out I threw At World’s End in with the wolves in the GII Shuvee. She held  her own though, coming in 4th/10.

Got Excess Heat back at a distance he seems to like (under 8f) and he ran off from the field to win the Ungraded Hirsch Jacobs. 1st/10.

;D Pirate Sword becomes the 1st Winner for Wind Swept Farms. He broke his maiden at second asking at Woodbine (Maiden) going 6.5 furlongs. This is a great since he has over came a early stumble in his first time out. I hope we can continue his streak.

Congrats on your first win, Wind Swept.

Is not a win but Arrun placed 2nd behind Pirate Sword which is much better then I expected

Forgot to add:Congrats on the win Wind Swept!

Heartful Act, my starter horse back in 2009, proved that he’s still competitive as a 6 y/o, finishing 2nd in his 6.5f allowance with a SF of 128.

We only sent two out today with mixed results:

3YO [color=blue]Magic Flyer made a switch back to his favored surface, turf (after his win on dirt last time out in an ungraded stakes).  He fought valiently, coming from midpack to chase the leader, losing by only a nose in the G2 Dixie Stakes at Pimlico.  We’ll take it.  Maybe he needs more room to run?  Either way, 2nd…especially second by a nose…isn’t bad.  This puts his stakes record this year at 5 starts, 2 wins, 2 places, and 1 show.  He’s run between 5f and today’s 9f, and on both dirt and turf to earn those, so we’re still pleased with out boy.  Oh, and he tied with the winner’s SF today, so it really was close.

Next out was 4YO [color=blue]Remembrance who was simply outclassed in the G3 Maryland Breeders’ Cup.  Though he had an impressive SF of 147, that only brought him in 5th/10.  We still have high hopes for this guy.

That’s b/c the SFs are based on the winner’s time, and then how far behind the winner you are.  1L = 1pt, so 0L = a tie.

Mocktail won his stakes with a vallant fight which makes me very happy! I wasn’t sure about this race and thought maybe he was going to settle into being a steady allowance runner but this was a nice surprise.

Saffron Kimono took a 5th in his race which I’m happy with. He’s a pretty consistant 2 year old and that’s all I want from him for now.

Congrats on Mocktail!
