Only one runner worth writing about:-

Ahoy Sailor (3yo, In The Navy) who was second in the Kentucky Derby (Gr. 1), being beaten only a Nose by Cop in Morgue (Congrats @Nicole11)
Sailor was a last-minute gamble entry as he is still a maiden, however, he had run second 3 times in his 7 starts, including 2 times in 3 starts this year. We figured why ever not as there didn’t seem to be too many major superstars in the race, so, we decided we’d roll the dice and see where they landed.

We tried a similar gamble with Blazing Fire (3yo, Ring of Fire) in the Kentucky Oaks (Gr. 1) but she only finished 10th out of the 12 runners, although she had the same SF as the horses that finished in front of her. The difference was that, while Blazing had won 2 of 3 starts as a 2YO last year, she hasn’t trained on as well this year.
