WOW that was a great debut for your 2yo’s! I should have posted last meet’s results when 7 of 8 finished in the top 4. We kinda sucked today but…2yo’s!

Biggest disappointment was [color=blue]Eyrie who had won his last 2 races in a row, never worse than 2nd so far at SC, bombing in his stakes debut. Oh well. I swear the horses of mine who do well in stakes races are those I throw in because there’s no other race for their distance/surface. Those I enter with stakes in mind don’t do well.  ::)

Happy first 2yo raceday! It’s always fun to see new names on the list. I raced 5 2yo’s and all of them were bred by Clicker Lab! It’s the first race day like this for our stable. Their results are pretty surprising.

[color=blue]Susurro finished 2nd/13 and this is the best result. Maybe I will regret selling his gold ranked dam! But we also have his lovely half sister by Monarchos.

[color=blue]Huaso and [color=red]Pintoresca were 6th/14 in their races. Pintoresca is out of our foundation mare and we’ll keep her no matter what.

And then [color=red]Que Venga finished 8th/12 and [color=blue]Alybello was 10th/13… although they seemed much better at workouts.

We also had one stakes entry; 3yo [color=red]Lointaine finished 3rd/12 in Gr. 2 Empire Rose Stakes. She was also one of my best 2yo’s so great to see her still doing well (or even better than last year).

No winners today but still picked up a sizable paycheck courtesy of [color=blue]Indygo Symphony’s 3rd in the Gr. 1 Santa Anita Derby. Accidentally entered a turf horse in a dirt race so he bombed that one and wasted a race day. Wish I could filter for surface to make sure that stops happening. The lone filly that ran didn’t do much but had three 2YOs debut, which was exciting. They didn’t win but they got fourth, fifth, and sixth in their respective races. Think positive!

Not sure if I should pursue the Derby with Symphony or target another stakes race. He’s probably better off avoiding the Derby, no matter how tempting it is to enter him.

One race to note was the G2 Empire Rose Stakes, in which we had [color=red]G.Ch. Unknown Soldier & [color=red]G.Ch. Valentine’s Day finish 1-2. This is the 9th time that these two have finished 1-2 in the same race, with [color=red]Valentine’s Day leading 5-4.

We had our first 2yo’s out today. A slow start with a record of 0-1-1-0 from 5 runners.

Shanthi - Congratulations on your great start with your 2yo’s, 4 Wins, 2 seconds, 1 third & 1 fourth. Sorry to see that [color=blue]Usain Bolt is taking forever to get the points he needs to become a WCh. I’ve got two girls waiting for a date with him when he finally gets the 36 points he needs.

[color=blue]Steampunk (2yo, Longlivetheking) handily broke his maiden today, making him Longlivetheking’s 1st winner from the 2017 crop. I’m hoping Steampunk keeps it up because he is homebred and one of my favorites out of a very large crop (for us).

Also, after a lackluster 2yo season (a debut 3rd and then off the board the rest of the year) [color=blue]Montenegro (3yo, Carrowmore), has won his second race of the year. I’m hoping to work him up through the allowance rankings and get him successfully into stakes before the year is over as he is also a homebred, but only if he wants to play.
