Not great O-T-B % but it was nice to see some of our 2YO’s doing pretty well. With a few exceptions, all of them did really badly in their first outings, with about half of them finishing last and, of the rest, the only reason they all didn’t finish last was because we had two runners in each race and one finished last and the other finished second to last. Out of 107 2YO runners before this day, we had 7 finishing 3rd, and 9 finishing 4th and the remainder finished off the board. Of the 8 2YO’s having their first race yesterday, they all finished last or second to last (with one exception which finished third to last). Of the ones having their second race, 7 of the 10 finished O-T-B. Still no 2YO winners yet but that will hopefully change.
We’re still playing around with training schedules for the older horses and think we’re seeing some improvement in performances, but, as most of them are only having their first race since the new schedule was implemented and haven’t gotten used to it, again we’re hopeful.
Even with all of this, we did have 2 winners, 7 seconds and 6 thirds.

Highlight of the day being Ch. Rancho Mirage (5yo, Calle de Oro) in the Churchill Downs Handicap (Gr. 2). Still 3 wins from stud qualification but fingers crossed we can get him there.

Been retiring a few and throwing up some for sale as well. Trying to thin the oldies out and selling those I don’t think I can stud qualify.
