4/25

Well, the babies continue to bring home the bacon.  Stakes ponies totally bombed.

WINS

2yos

[color=blue]Nighttogo (Nightfight) broke his maiden first time out pulling away by nearly 3 1/2 lenghts.  He was one we were looking most forward to being out of our WCh. 2X Eclipse award winning mare Gilttogo.

[color=blue]Wind In My Sails (As You Wish) also broke his maiden impressively first time out in a packed full maiden race.  He’s out of another one of our prized mares NCh. Set The Sails (G) and is already an inch taller than her at 17.1h.

[color=red]Given A Lilly (Point Given) had the most impressive win today finishing her maiden race over 8 lengths in front.  We are excited to see these "Lilly’ foals doing so well because we love the Rogue’s Lilly dam line so well.

3yo+

[color=blue]Snowy Night (Nightfight) finally broke his maiden in his fifth race this year.  Hopefully this means he’s starting to get those legs working right! He’s finished 2nd in 3 other races this year.

We had 29 on the track today.

Absolute highlight of the day was Starling’s (5yo, Rahy) 6th career SW in Hong Kong. Not just because it puts him 1 away from studification, but it also got him that coveted Gr. 1 win that he needs. So WHOO!!

It’s a Long Story (2yo, Unabridged) is now 2 wins for 2 starts. His dam had a really talented but really short career. I hope he is more than just a flash in the pan.

Charles Bon (2yo, Candidate) won his first start out.

27(20)-3(1)-3(3)-3(1)-9(6) $393,350

A day of 1/3rds - 1/3rd of our runners finished in the first 3 in their races, 1/3rd of our runners finished 4th in their races and 1/3rd of our runners finished off-the-board. Another 2YO winner, making it 4 so far for the year, however, what was also encouraging was that all 6 of our 2YO runners today finished on-the-board.

Biggest disappointment today was the performance of our 3 runners in the G1 Audemars Piguet Queen Elizabeth II Cup, a race we have won in each of the previous 3 years. Our best performance in today’s race was with last years winner, [color=blue]G.Ch. Straticus who could only finish 4th, with our other two runners finishing 5th & 7th respectively. Congrats to Cat on [color=blue]Starling’s great performance in winning this race. Good luck in him getting the last SW he needs to become Stud-Qualified.

Two other disappointments were our “twins”, [color=red]G.Ch. Valentine’s Day & [color=red]G.Ch. Unknown Soldier, who have finished 1-2 in the same race 9 times in the past two years, but could only manage 3rd & 6th in the G2 Queenston Stakes today. Congrats to Kim for her two horses finishing 1-2 in this race.
