3/3

Pretty good day. 5 out, only 1 out of the money.

[color=blue]Well of Magick (Sadler’s Wells) won his NW1.

[color=red]Etched In Gold (Government Secret) was 2nd in her allowance.

[color=red]On Angel’s Wings (Slew O’Scots) was 3rd in her NW2.

Not great
[color=green]Valiant Effort flopped (as usual). He’s now up for sale, cheap.
[color=blue]New Rule could only manage a 4th in the Toorak Handicap. Not the must useful result as it doesn’t even cout as a placing for studship. He’s coming home for 10 days rest before his next race, and probabaly a check of his running style.

Disastorously bad day - three out, nobody in the money plus we came home with an extra pony  :-\

However, was very chuffed to claim [color=red]Affenliebe as a broodmare prospect. She’s a 6yo daughter of Secret of Love (CDR) (by Secretariat, also CDR) out of the Alydar(CDR) mare Answer To Me. Her granddam is the RDC mare Heroic Encounter, herself a half-sister to Heroic Lass (dam of Simply Heroic). She finished last in her claimer but given her age and the fact she hadn’t run for three years I’m not disappointed. That was only her seventh start and she’s MW,MP prior to this and I think her pedigree more than makes up for it  :slight_smile:

Fantastic day. Some more SW would have but nice, but who are we to complain?

Pointed Question was 5th in his NW1. I will say he was packing the most weight in the allowance, so I won’t hold it too much against him.
Bandit’s Love continues to impress. She won her NW3 against the boys.
Light of Ceres, I think, ran out of room, finishing 4th in her OA and her SC debut.
Dal Riata was 3rd in her OA.
Ramses was 3rd in his OA. Timbuktu was a disappointing 6th.
Swan Song was 3rd in her OA.
Pearls of Wisdom has been perking up after a lackluster 2yo season. She finished 2nd in her NW2.
Ask Directions finished 2nd in her OA.
Washingtonian won his starter allowance.
Highlight of the day was Daytona Beach’s win of the Gr. 1 Toorak Handicap. Stablemate Unconditional Love was 2nd.
Soupy was 4th in her Gr.1
It’s a Girl was 2nd against the boys in her Gr. 2.

All things considered, 14 out, 14 paychecks. Darn good day.

After making a spreadsheet of all my horses to better remember where to best place them my horses have…improved. Enough for me to not be too lazy to post here,  ::)

We had 7 out with a second and a third but we did bring home a claim who won her race. [color=red]Beldarin is a nicely bred 4YO filly by Crystal Rainbow-Northern Eagle, by Northern Slew. I claimed her for my stud, and it helps that she looks like a decent runner.

Fleet Admiral, my perpetually baffling The Black colt, finished second in a 7.5f dirt allowance and the 3YO Tiznow filly A Dreamy Sonata ran third in a 9f allowance for 3YO fillies. The others finished well but my three disappointments continue to be three of my 3YOs I had high hopes for. Time to go back to the drawing board with them…

Our kids finally ran in a straight line!  ;D

[color=blue]Field of Diamonds finished 3rd/14 in his NW1.
[color=red]Ordinarily Yours was 2nd/7 in a NW2.
[color=blue]Dublin ran 1st/6 in his NW3.
[color=red]Final Point ran 3rd/6 in an OA.
[color=green]Legal Strategy was 1st/14 in his OA.
[color=red]Irish Miss shocked us and finished 5th/10 in a Starter Allowance; distance might have been too much.
[color=blue]Red Dog finished 4th/6 in a NW2.
[color=blue]Glory of Love ran 5th/6 in a Starter Allowance.

Imagine, I tried to claim the same mare! Lol. Not too bad here finally a somewhat decent day, a couple of disappointments but otherwise a more profitable day than recent race days. Had 13 out With 4 not bringing home a check.  I am loving the jump trials, had 3 awesome results today due to them!!!
[color=blue]Tomahawks-7.5f NW1 Allow,3yo,SC - Good,[color=blue]1stThis one is my most exciting today, a recent claim, his 3rd lifetime start,due to jump trials I switched him, and he not only broke his maiden, first time over jumps,he won! And he won by 3/4 lengths.
[color=red]In The Fast Lane-8.0f NW2 Allow,3yo F,Turf - Good,[color=red]5th don’t know why she just cruised along but at least she brought home some money.
[color=red]Fools Fruit-10.0f NW3 Allow, 3yo F,SC - Good,[color=red]2nd another great finish due to jump trials, I switched her and she ran right on the heels of her buddy, only losing by a nose!
[color=red]Northern Moon-10.0f NW3 Allow,3yo F,SC - Good,[color=red]1st this leased filly had been doing poorly, until I did a jump trial, her owner didn’t mind if I switched her, and her first race she wins! And my filly was 2nd right behind her!
[color=blue]Danzinwiththedevil-13.0f,Allow,4yo+,SC - Good,[color=blue]10th I knew he would prob be back a ways due to just coming back from a farm rest, but he was 5th to 10f, now I know his max distance.
[color=blue]Height Of Darkness-7.5f Allowance for 3yo,Turf - Good,[color=blue]1st so proud of this guy, his second start this season and he comes out of the 3rd PP to wire the race!
[color=blue]Pharaoh’s Fire-7.5f Allow,3yo,turf-good,[color=blue]4th not the finish he’s been having but at least he got a check, think he might like more distance, he trailed his stablemate above.
[color=red]Devils Grace-11.0f Allow, 4yo+ F,Dirt - Fast,[color=red]6th don’t know what’s going on here maybe she needs a farm rest, she will be sent to brood next yr.
[color=red]Bonnie Parker-9.0f NW2 Allow,3yo F,Turf - Good,[color=red]3rd good to see her perk up finally, think I found what she likes.
[color=blue]Pride of Hollywood-9.0f NW3 Allow,3yo,Dirt - Good,[color=blue]7th I don’t know what happened here he has been doing much better.
[color=red]Angelic Theory-8.5f Ungr. Busher Stakes,3yo F,Dirt - Fast,[color=red]5th not the finish I hoped for but it’s a check, she was behind her stablemate an NF filly.
[color=red]Nightlit Haze-8.5f Ungr. Busher Stakes,3yo F,Dirt - Fast,[color=red]3rd good to see her finally coming back to her 2yo form, she was in 2nd to 6f, this may have been her max. she and her stablemate ran 3 & 5
[color=red]Vivian Leigh-9.0f Gr. 2 Rampart Handicap for 3yo+ F,Turf - Good,[color=red]7th don’t know what happened here she has been doing so well

Great day here, 10 out and 9 were in the money

Deep Blue Sea (I’m Your Angel) won his NW3 allowance. I have been running him in stakes but he just needed a run and none were available

Careless Whisper (Alydar) ran 3rd in her SC allowance. Going to start trying some equipment on her, see if that brings her back into the winning circle

Maeve was a flop, may be time to retire her

Victorina (A.P. Indy) ran 5th in an allowance. I know she can run better so a bit of a disappointment but she was the only filly in the field sooo…

Spirt Moon (Lasting Spirit) won her SC starter allowance. I tried some different equipment on her, clearly she loved it! Hopefully she can keep it up

Hishi Natalie (Boldness Shows) ran 4th in her NW2 allowance. This filly likes to run top 4 but doesn’t like to win! Some equipment fiddling needs to be done

Solo Sunset (War Chant) ran 1st in her NW2 allowance. This is her second 1st in a row, I may have found an equipment combination she likes! :slight_smile:

I’m Your Eskimo (I’m Your Angel) ran 4th in an allowance. I’m happy with that, he has been super consistent

Anglesite (I’m Your Angel) was the highlight of my day winning the Rampart Handicap! This was her first stakes win and i’m so proud! She beat out her stablemate Eloquently (Strider) who ran 5th

Sent one out. Our first 'chaser since the addition of jump trials. (thank you!)

Rhosyn (Highland Laird) - 1st/6 in a NW1 11F 'Chase. We’ve been fighting with her for her to break her maiden for the last 9 starts didn’t know what else to do so we trialed her and the jockey said she loved it. Winning by 8 in your fence debut confirms that. :slight_smile:

Some nice results.

[color=red]Lacune won her steeplechase maiden by 3 lengths, giving us some hope for the year. Her 2yo year was terrible (before we claimed her) so I hope that she is a good steeplechaser.
The 11 furlongs Allowance for 4yo+ F/M was the highlight of the day, with[color=red] Ch. The Woman In Black winning it with ease, and [color=red]Ch. Melodramatic finishing 4th/14. Great mares.

We had a great day, and I feel kind of embarrassed by it.

This is why: [color=blue]Virginia Challenge, who I thought was merely a dud, was simply pleading for me to put him over jumps. He placed 3rd/6 in 11.0f NW1 Allowance for 3yo+ (Steeplechase) after a long 15 races never placing above 7th. I can’t believe I wasted his entire 2yo year without thinking to myself, “I wonder if his parents were jumpers and he isn’t hopeless after all?” Wow. Just wow.

[color=blue]Gallant Affair placed 2nd/6 in 11.5f NW1 Allowance for 4yo+. He keeps teasing me but never actually wins. I also think his impressive dosage, which claims him to be a strong sprinter, lies.

At least he’s only 3! You could’ve wasted a few extra months/years not jumping him.

Yes, that’s true. At least I figured it out at the beginning of this year!  ::)

Sent 4 out, and only 1 was on the board:

4YO homebred [color=red]OH SO PROUD (x Highland Pride) finally broke her maiden in her NW1!  Hooray!  She’s had 4 starts this year, each progressively better (4, 3, 2, 1).  I’m so, so happy to see her figuring it all out (she’s from my first-ever foal crop of 2, and it doesn’t hurt that I still own the dam).

I hope that the 3YO stablemates who also ran that day - Aunt Pearl, Always Ladylike, and Javasong - took notes.
