WOOOOOHOOOOOO!!! So excited after seeing the results tonight
WINS:
I’m starting off with the biggest win for our stable for the day (EVER even) with CS’s first Dubai World Cup victory! Victory by a nose for Von Lichtenstein but a win over a very talented & tough field. I’ll probably rest him at the farm until the Triple Crown races, but we’ll see if I sneak a prep race in or not.
[color=red]Over the Rainbow scored a victory in her 8.5f NW1 allowance. [color=blue]Black Hole Sun won his 8.5f NW2 allowance. [color=red]Bossanova won a 16f NW2 allowance. [color=red]Dream to Reality won her 9.5f 4yo+ open allowance race.
PLACES: [color=red]Blockbuster was second in her 8.5f NW1 allowance. [color=red]Elune was second in a 10.5f NW3 allowance race. [color=blue]Whisper to Me seems to be coming back earning second in a 9.5f 4yo+ open allowance.
No shows today but a few fourth/fifth place finishes and only 4/17 we sent were out of the money
Good day here, no wins but lots of 2nds and 3rds. Sent 6 out, 5 in the money
Trippi Bree (Crystal Rainbow) ran 2nd in a NW3 SC allowance. This gals consistent all right! I tried her on a shorter (7f) steeplechase run then she’s used to and she kept up so i’m happy with that
Anex (Almost Home) ran 3rd in a dirt allowance. She is another good, consistent runner.
Angelius (I’m Your Angel) ran 2nd in a dirt allowance against Anex. He is used to longer fields, but he seems to not mind the shorter runs either
Daydreamer (Gimme A Shot) ran 3rd in a maiden. This guys driving me a bit bonkers, he runs OK but I can’t seem to push him past 3rd/2nd
Lake Highlands (Highland Bandit) ran 2nd in a NW1 dirt allowance. We claimed him earlier in the month, happy to see him run well in his first run with us.
Plagioclause (Crystal Rainbow) wants to be a dressage pony, not a racehorse… Maybe its time to give him the snip and see if that will make him run
Congrats Lindsay! Will he be going for the Derby later?
Pretty good day for us. We had our first successful stakes outing of the year (aka, non-boming). The new training approach is working great!
[color=blue]Glory of Love ran 3rd/6 in a NW2. We think he wants more distance.
[color=red]Sun Godess won her NW3 against 9 others.
[color=blue]Glorioso won his OA against 13 others; we definitely want to find him a stakes race!
[color=blue]Spirit of Autumn ran 6th/10 in his OA and has been gelded. Hopefully that’ll focus his attention.
[color=green]Bold Personality was 3rd/6 in a 10k Claimer, and went unclaimed.
[color=blue]Double Swing was 4th/7 in his NW2. We’re still figuring him out.
[color=red]Cherokee Princess was 8th/9 in her NW3. She needs distance. We hope.
[color=red]Illuminate Joy was our highlight, finishing 2nd/9 in the Ungr. Caltech Handicap.
Mediocre day here, but 2 out and 2 on the board isn’t anything to complain about.
[color=red]Laurey Williams (5yo by Omaha) ran 4th/14 in an open allowance on dirt. Tough mixed field, so I’m happy with her run.
[color=red]Beth’s Our Choice (3yo by Irish River) ran 3rd/9 in a 5.5f NW3 on turf. She was beaten out by two boys, and she put up a decent SF. I’m hoping she’ll continue to find her legs this year.
Actinella got back on track today with a win in a turf NW2 for 3yo fillies. Really like this filly she’s been quite precocious, didn’t appreciate when we tried a stake two starts back but jumped right back in to the fray when we got her back to company she likes. Hoping she might have future in stakes. 1st/6.
Blue Thistle has suprised us with how consistent she’s become. We purchased her in the begininning of November and since then she’s been pretty consistent. Today she earned her third win of the year in a turf NW3 for older fillies and mares. Now to see how she fares in open company! 1st/6.
Bold Wizard was his usual awesome self, coming home under the wire first again, this time in a turf NW3. Might try him in a stakes next out, see how he fares! 1st/9.
Romantic Memory continues to tease us by coming up just short of getting her first stakes win, 2nd/10 today in the G2 Orchid Handicap.
5 out and only 2 checks, my NF filly doesn’t know what she wants since turning 3, 2 others I think their races were too short for their liking, and the two below are the only earners today.
[color=blue]Highland Velvet-6.0f Allow,3yo,Dirt - Fast,[color=blue]5th I never know where this guy will finish, but hey it’s a check!
And highlight of the day- [color=red]Mi Amoe-8.0f Gr. 3 Next Move Handicap for 4yo+, SC-Fast[color=red]2nd she’s had it easy since the new year so was happy she ran 2nd in mixed company even!
One very nice surprise [color=blue]Ch. Smokin’ Star finished 1st/11 in Portrero Grande Breeders’ Cup Handicap. This is his first Graded win! I’d love to see him studified, with his pedigree, which is a mix of Cigar, Cross Roads, Count Fleet and Secretariat.
[color=red]Lacune was 3rd/6 in a Starter Allowance. She should grow up to be a nice steeplechaser, but I don’t know how much she can do.
Then we had two disappointments, and I’ll have to see what to do with them.
[color=red]Alchaasibiyeh, our only Alley Cat filly, finished 7th/10 in NW3. The speed figure is high, so she might just have had too strong competition.
[color=red]Classical Hightail finished 9th/10 in Orchid Handicap for 4yo+ F/M. That was a Grade 2 stakes, so she can still make some money in Allowances, but it looks like she’s done as a 5yo. We shall see if she likes jumping.
Figured that since I’m posting my 3/31 results I might as well post my 3/28 results at the same time. Had five runners and they all hit the board.
[color=blue]Fleet Admiral ran 2nd in an 8.5f dirt allowance. He’s becoming quite the model of consistency, bringing home a paycheck in the majority of his starts.
[color=red]Farewell to Arms, [color=blue]We Are Pilots, [color=blue]Wise Words, and [color=red]Beldarin all finished third in their races. I’m happiest with Arms and Pilots because I shelled out the most money for them and they’re finally starting to show what they can do for me, xD
