3/17

Three out, two bringing home checks.

[color=red]Song Of Tears (Danzig x Blind Justice), 4YO ran 3rd/7 in a competitive 11.5f open allowance steeplechase for 4YO+ F/M.

[color=red]Drumline (Jazz It Up x Easterner), 3YO had her first start this year after several months of growing at home. Evidently she’s matured nicely since her flop-tastic starts as a 2YO, and she won her first race today in a 14-horse field 9.5f dirt maiden for 3YOs.

[color=red]Madison County (Black Gold x Making Money), 4YO told me she hasn’t changed her mind about running on turf. Back to the dirt races!

Blah sent out 9, only 3 small checks, a place,show and 5th. Most of my horses hate the wet and every track was wet or slow today. Hope we’d is better!

[color=green]Happy St Patricks Day!

Some really nice results.

[color=red]Ch. The Woman In Black was 1st in San Pedro Stakes  :smiley:
[color=red]Crownette the monster filly continues her incredible performance and won by 4 1/4 lengths. Just a starter allowance, but she doesn’t know it.
And [color=red]Alchaasibiyeh won her NW2 steeplechase, finally, our Alley Cat filly found her destiny. The race was tough and two horses got injured, fortunately our filly finished healthy.
[color=red]Ch. Summer Morning was 2nd in a steeplechase allowance, very crowded. [color=red]Ch. Love Signal was in the middle of the pack and she finished career, now she’s going to see Bellagio.

Great day.
[color=green]Turcanna was back on form, 1st in his 5.5f Turf Allowance.

Best was [color=red]Red Fox who also won her race by 3 1/2 lengths, a 9.5f NW1. Cost me a trifecta on handicapping, but I’ll take the prize money any day  :slight_smile:

God I hope these results weren’t because the tracks were slow/wet today because then I’d have problems placing them in future races, lol

Had six runners out and four brought home checks, including another win by one of my 3YOs and a promising race by my baffling stakes filly.

[color=blue]Trancus won his second race in a row, an 8.5f dirt allowance for 3YOs. Luckily his performance has nothing to do with the track and everything to do with the equipment changes I made. Fingers crossed that he earns his way into a stakes race in the near future.

[color=red]Scottish Time ran in the same race and finished fourth. Gonna keep the blinkers on for now and see if stretching her out will help her get her win.

[color=green]Klassique Night and [color=blue]Galaxy Seven were both in a 5.5f turf allowance and they didn’t do very well at all. Klassique ran 6th and Galaxy ran 10th and last. This wasn’t the ideal distance for either of them, and the slow track probably didn’t help matters.

I’m most excited for the performance of my expensive underperformer [color=blue]We Are Pilots in an 8.5f dirt allowance - he finished 2nd and brought home his first paycheck. I really hope this wasn’t because of the sloppy track; mudders are great but if wet tracks are the only way he can finish in the money then I’m screwed, ='D

[color=red]Super Tuesday finished third in the Ungraded San Pedro Stakes at 9.5f on dirt. It’s her first paycheck in at least half a year and I really hope it’s proof that she’s rounding back into her 2YO stakes-winning form. She was so off last year and I really hope it’s not yet time for her to join my growing broodmare band.

Woo! We got a stakes win! :smiley: In fact, only 3 of our ponies were worse than 4th, and none of them were in stakes races.

Wins:
[color=red]On Angel’s Wings (Slew O’Scots) broke her maiden in a NW1. :slight_smile:

[color=red]Bright Naiad (Irish River) also broke her maiden in a NW1. :slight_smile:

[color=blue]Robin Goodfellow (Irish River) in a NW3.

[color=red]Songcatcher (Tiznow) in a starter allowance.

[color=red]Calanais (Cross Roads) in an allowance.

[color=red]Lord Nelson (Cigar) in the Cox Plate. Two more stakes wins for studification! :smiley:

Places:
[color=blue]Raven’s Glory (Magic Glory) was 2nd in a NW2.

[color=blue]Full of Promise (Secretary) in a NW2.

4ths:
[color=blue]Into The Light (Strike It Rich) in a NW2.

[color=blue]One of a Kind (No Duplicate) in the Swale Stakes.

Our sires also had a good day:
[color=blue]Gunningdownromance’s daughter Killer Queen was 2nd in an allowance.

[color=blue]Ring of Fire’s son Set On Fire broke his maiden in a NW1.

[color=blue]TakeMeToHollywood’s daughter Toast of the Town won the Irish O’Brien Stakes.

A good day, not many out.

Anywhere But Here showed a marked improvement today, finishing 3rd/14 in a turf OA for fillies and mares. In the same race Exclamation Point finished a frustrating 5th/14. She’d been so good for a four race stretch and since then it’s been touch and go, don’t know what’s going on with her.

Ipso Facto ran a nice 2nd/14 in a dirt maiden. See if he’s a little more consistent now that he’s had a little ahem…surgery.

Leo’s Lucky Lady finished a decent 3rd/7 in a dirt NW2.

Marauder continues to drive me insane. I love his line’s and really wanted to get a Wonder’s Miracle studified but he’s defying me much like his other two brother’s I had did. Sigh, he’ll be getting the snip-snip today, at least I have one of her daughters to continue the line! 7th/14 in a dirt maiden today.

On Time Sometime ran like his tail was on fire today, breaking his maiden in a turf NW1. This was his first start after being gelded I believe, perhaps he was worried about losing even more body parts?  >:D 1st/6.

Rolemodel has given us some hope that he might have a but of his brother’s talent. He’d shown promise then fell off the wagon then recently with a equipment change and a switch to the grass he’s on a two race win streak. 1st/6 in a turf NW2.

Sent 3 out, with 3 paychecks coming home…

5YO [color=green]SECRET SURPRISE (x A.P. Indy) went out in a $10k claimer, and we held our breath the entire time.  I would hate to lose him, especially for that price, but it was the best race for him, and our string would probably benefit from a little downsizing.  He won this race easily, which is no surprise: he’s very consistant, with a lifetime race record of 9 starts, 4 wins, 2 shows, 0 places.

5YO [color=red]TWIRLAWAY (x Whirlaway) ran 3rd in the ungraded Irish O’Brien Stakes - her first stakes place, a nice validation that her stakes win last month wasn’t a fluke.  Super, super excited to see this mare start to blossom - although to her credit, had she been managed properly, she probably would have done all of this in the past 2 years, as she was consistant then with only 7 starts in those two years, but with 3 wins and a place from those.  Either way, she will continue to race for so long as she is willing & able.  I’m happy to have a successful daughter of Whirlaway to add to our broodmare lineup someday.

4YO homebred [color=red]OH SO PROUD (x Highland Pride) ran 4th in her NW2, but she earned a nice speed factor, and earned the same speed factor as the top 3 finishers.

Pretty fantastic day here. Sent 10 out, 9 were 4th or better!

Kew Garden (Rahy) ran 4th in a NW2 allowance. This girl has been running very consistently

Alfalfa Sprouts (Cigar) ran 3rd in a SC allowance. This was her first start on SC so i’m very pleased with that

Capture the Glory (Rahy) WON her allowance. She was a recent purchase from Stillwater so i’m very excited that her first race with me was a win :slight_smile:

Careless Whisper (Alydar) WON her SC allowance. I tried some new equipment on her and she seems to like the change. Hopefully this keeps up, she ran well in stakes last year so it would be nice to run her in stakes again!

Hishi Natalie (Boldness SHows) ran 2nd in her NW1 allowance. I tried some new equipment on her as well, she seemed to like the change

I’m Your Eskimo (I’m Your Angel) ran 4th in his allowance. Time to start experimenting with equipment and see if we can bump him out of 4th

Rose Of Portland (Moonopoly) ran 4th in a NW1 SC. This is the highest she has ever placed so i’ll take it!

Solo Sunset (War Chant) ran 3rd in a NW2 allowance. This gal has been doing well this year, always on the board.

The Duchess (Sneak Peek) ran 3rd in a NW2 SC allowance. Her second start on SC with new equipment so not too shabby

Sunday Paper (Sunday Silence) was the highlight of the day winning the Gotham Stakes. I’m so excited for this boy, this is his second stakes win in a row, he just loves to jump! Uncanny Yodel ran in the same race but had a less then impressive finish.  She had been running really well in allowances but may just not be ready for stakes level

Congrats! :slight_smile: I hope she continues to do well for you.
