Finally!! The first filly this year. She was due earlier. I change the naming theme for the year; they will be named alphabetically. I had 28 foals due this year, and the English alphabet uses 26 letters, so in case if we don’t lose two foals, I’ll use two additional letters. I’ll also try to tie in with parents names.
Today we found a lovely, healthy filly.
Attractiveness - 8.3h liver chestnut filly by ICh. Stressed, out of Ch. Crownette (Giant’s Causeway). She is her dam’s first foal. Both granddams are gold ranked now. She is also 3x3 inbred to Man O’War. We purchased Crownette in a claimer from Final Furlong and she was raced only by us, becoming a Champion and stakes winner, mult. stakes placed.
Ch. Crownette will be bred to Frankel.
I like your naming theme.
Lovely filly.
Now a boy. I love the foaling season! I must have more broodies next year. This boy’s name was inspired by the Big Ben on Twitter.
[color=blue]Bong Bong Bong - 9.1h black colt by WCh. Nightfight, out of Easy Union (created). Both parents are now gold ranked. His dam is our first gold ranked broodmare. We own her other two colts bred by Clicker Lab; one will start racing this year as a 2yo.
Easy Union will be bred to NCh. Al Mundhir.
Congrats on a healthy Nightfight colt! He’s super handsome!
Thanks everyone! Finally another foal, and a royal baby. We were worried about NCh. Queen’s foaling as her last year’s foal was stillborn. This time she had a healthy colt. It’s only the second colt - all her other foals are mares, all stakes winners.

A filly! And again a liver chestnut, like the first filly this year.
[color=red]Dainty Twee - 9.2h liver chestnut filly by Animal Kingdom, out of Ch. Ayi. She’s Ayi’s second foal bred and owned by us, the first is a colt by Rock of Gibraltar.
Ch. Ayi will be bred to NCh. Al Mundhir.
Surprise - a chestnut colt from two dark bay parents.
[color=blue]Emoji - 8.2h chestnut colt by Deep Impact, out of Adriatic Swan (gold ranked). Adriatic Swan is a dam of GCh. Zadar, who is one stakes win away from stud qualification, and we’ve bred his full sister Zanahoria. Emoji are Japanese smileys used in text messages, and Deep Impact was raced in Japan, so maybe some kind of connection…
Adriatic Swan will be bred to NCh. Al Mundhir.
Finally! I have so many overdue. I mean, one or two… and this foal was born early probably.
[color=red]Filipendulous - 8.0h bay little girl by GCh. My Lucky Day, out of Ch. Sugar ‘n’ Spice, bred by Final Furlong. Her sire is retired now, I have one other homebred filly by him. She will start racing this year. Sugar ‘n’ Spice was a stakes level performer and definitely preferred turf, while dad was a dirt specialist.
Ch. Sugar ‘n’ Spice will be bred to NCh. Al Mundhir.
And another lovely filly from one of our favourite mares.
[color=red]Gallimaufry - 8.0h flea-bitten grey filly by ICh. Unabridged, out of GCh. The Woman In Black (Black Gold). Unabridged has sired the 2017 2yo Filly of the year, NCh. Unprecedented, and some other great racehorses.
GCh. The Woman In Black will be bred to NCh. Al Mundhir. Both were raced by us and both won the Gr. 3 Discovery Handicap at Aqueduct, so I hope that they’re a good match.
Fillies!
[color=red]House of Cards - 8.3h bay girl by NCh. Robin Hood out of Ch. Cordially (NCh. Diplomat). Both parents were Gr. 1 level on dirt and the foal should run well on turf also; all distances.
Ch. Cordially will be bred to FFCh. High Chances.
Very nice fillies - congratulations!
Two pretty boys today. Good to see them as mares are definitely dominating my barn.
[color=blue]Impresario - 8.3h black colt by ICh. Unabridged, out of Por Amor Al Arte, our foundation mare. Her first foal is raced by Renegade in Australia, currently she has a nice 3rd place in her first start as a 3yo. I decided that this boy should be named Impresario given his elegant black colour; although the other boy is pretty handsome too.
[color=blue]Join the Joyride - 9.3h dark grey colt by Monarchos, out of Ch. Udaivilas. Her older colt bred by us is also a dark grey. Neither of them have any racing foals yet, but Udaivilas was pretty consistent at allowance level, although she didn’t like running on dirt.
Both mares will be bred to NCh. Al Mundhir (surprise!).
Love the names. Though there’s already a Joy Ride, which is fairly close.
