[color=blue]BORN TOO SOON, as his name implies, arrived on December 20 (beat Vaucluse’s [color=red]JUST CAN’T WAIT by 2 days). He is a brown colt, standing at 8.3h, by GCh. MAJOR’S FLIGHT (S) out of MAGIC CRYSTAL. This is the second foal for Magic Crystal, both of them born this year. Magic Crystal will visit What’s Debatable next year and will hopefully learn to keep her legs closed longer next time.

Yeah, my iPad loves to correct me. I was sending a message to a friend the other day and made a comment about how I was a bit floofier than I wanted to be. <.< Especially in the rear area. So, later, when I was typing out a message for someone else, and said something about school, my iPad autocorrected “school” to “floofybutt.” -.- How it managed that, I don’t know, especially since I only typed the word once, but it did.

I never thought of checking for similar names when the code allowed my name. There is an extra “I” in my name. Is that too close to be eligible?
I have noticed that there are other names in the game which are similar to each other, e.g Lady of Honour and Lady of Honor and I remember other names that were close, but agree that this is too confusing. I’ll think about a different name for my foal later.
Yes, I try and avoid anything that’s off by only a letter or 2. It’s really tough to program that in, though, so it’s manual checking. (The code treats “dog” as equally different from “dogs” and “ego”, and clearly those are big differences.)
Yeah when I had a mare sugar road (I didn’t name her) there was/is also a sugar rogue , similar but it was let be due to the second word.
Though I do have an Enter stage right , and I think there’s an exit stage right too.
I think the rule of thumb is different spellings of the same name = no go. Rogue and Road are two different things. As are enter and exit, so those two would be okay.
I imagine, Me Too and/or Me Two and/or Me To would not be okay. But maybe Me 2 would be?
Lewis, love the names Cheeky Monkey and Wonder Woman. I’m shocked that there hasn’t been one already!
I’d rather avoid anything that has the exact same meaning, just to avoid confusion. The real life Jockey Club also does comparisons on soundex, so if you have drastically different spellings but the name would sound the same, it’s a no-go. But that’s thanks to the announcer being unable to distinguish between which one they’re announcing, which obviously isn’t a problem with FF.
I’ve renamed [color=blue]DoYouBelieveInMagic. His new name is [color=blue]MagicalMysteryTour, an old Beatles song written about 1967 (am I showing my age although I have never been a big Beatles fan?!?).
Dude, the Beatles are one of those boy bands that are timeless.
