8.0hh chestnut filly
WCh. Strike It Rich (S) x NCh. Sedaka Century
Very excited for this filly! Strike It Rich was a lovely racer, winning multiple stakes on both dirt and turf. He’s had 3 SWs and 1 MSW from only twelve foals to race, and I’m excited to see how his foals fare this year! Sedaka Century was a sprinter of turf and won an Eclipse for older mare (and she is one of my favorite horses ). All of her foals so far have been fillies, and her first foal starts on the track this year so hopefully it will go well.

8.2hh dark bay filly
ICh. Sleipnir x Now I’m Vexed
Troubs is named in the tradition of her great-grandfamily, Palace Music and Gold Sun and The Minstrel. Sleipnir was champion 2 year old colt and Now I’m Vexed was a nice 2 year old runner, though she never ran in any stakes. I’m hoping for a nice young runner.
Lovely foals, all of them
Agree with Shanthi, the name’s awesome.
It seems like it’s been such a long time since my last foal!

9.3hh black filly
NCh. Clockstopper x Cryptotrick
This lovely filly is the second born and first live foal of Cryptotrick. Crypto was a decent runner, winning and placing on both dirt and turf. Clockstopper was a very nice runner on turf and I’m hoping he’ll class up Crypto a bit. Playfair is named after the Playfair cipher.
Nice filly, love the name
Well we had one late foal and one early.

9.2hh dark bay filly
NCh. The Fighting Fifty (B) x GCh. Electrifying [Black Legend (S)]
This filly was born about a week late. I am having a super hard time naming her; nothing really seems to fit. She is almost the spitting image of her mom though. The Fighting Fifty was a very nice runner, excelling in sprints and middle distance runs, while Electrifying made her splash almost exclusively in sprinting. All four grandparents are silver-rated.
[color=blue]Utsusemi
8.1hh dark bay colt
ICh. Witness (B) x Soifon
Semi was born a few weeks early. His mom was a nice runner at two and won a stakes at three before sharply tailing off, while Witness raced successfully on all surfaces and at pretty much every distance into his four year old year. I’m hoping to add a bit of longevity to Semi’s career. Utsusemi is named after his mom. Soifon is a character in the Bleach anime/manga. One of her powers is utsusemi, which is the ability to move “at great sudden speed, leaving at least one tangible after-image behind.”
The first thing that popped into my head with the filly is [color=red]Hundred Watt (or perhaps [color=red]Hundred Watt Smile?) Or there’s [color=red]Megawatt or [color=red]Alva (Thomas Edison’s middle name). I’ll keep pondering.
Hmm thanks! I’ll keep those in mind.
Another one today! After this guy, no foals til the end of April and then none til June.
[color=blue]Tarhun
8.2hh liver chestnut colt
Point Given (S) x River of Dreams (B)
Tarhun is named after a Hurrian god of sky and storm, Teshub, whose Hittite name was Tarhun. I got some inspiration from Point Given’s sire, Thunder Gulch. I’m not sure how this cross will fare. Dreams is a solid producer and my first foal from her, Greylin, was second in her only start.
7 fillies
7 colts
2 foals left
Finally! After almost a month of waiting (a week and a half of those being late), there’s another foal in the barn.

10.0hh strawberry roan colt
WCh. Strider (S) x One True Way (S)
This big guy is half to three MSP runners and one MSW so I’m hoping Strider will give him some class and bump him up into Super Awesome Runner territory.
8 colts
7 fillies
1 foal left (not until June! )
