Finally a nice win. My horses are terrible at the beginning of the year.

However, 3yo [color=red]Lointaine won a NW2 allowance which was her first race this year. She’s by Octagonal and she was one of my best 2yo’s last year.

Pretty “meh” day with five out and nobody better than third. Three picked up a pay check and on the plus side the beaten ponies weren’t far behind the winners. Seems our ponies also have the early year blues  :-\

[color=red]Danzintothetop (5yo Strider) earned her GCh title so that was one positive.

We also claimed [color=red]Lasting Time (3yo Lasting Spirit) who is out of a half-sister to What’s Debatable and Major’s Flight so a nice pedigree if she has some talent.

We had a good day in allowances overall but since it’s the new year I just had to express my delight at some of now ‘oldies’ who are still goodies!

[color=blue]NCh. Devil’s Walk won the Gr. 2 Strub Stakes in fine style as a now 5yr old. Hopefully he’s like his sire and can run for a long time yet! We have high hopes for him attaining his International title now

And very happily I can say [color=red]NCh. Ishka is still winning at 6yrs old. She won the Gr. 1 Underwood Stakes which is her first stakes win on the dirt. She’s already proven herself well on the Turf so I thought why not lets see what she can do! She’s also very close to her ICh.

None of our younger stakes entries did much so i’m very thankful for these two!

[color=red]G.Ch. Fool’s Kiss, (4yo, Foolhardy) [/b] in the G2 Hill Stakes. The 3rd consecutive year this race has been won by a Starfish horse, although, last year’s winner, [color=blue]G.Ch. Straticus, could only finish 5th.
[color=blue]Ch. Risky Romance, (3yo, Gunningdownromance) [/b] in the Ung Old Hat Stakes. His 2nd consecutive win and 4th overall (including 3 SW). Unfortunately, he is unlikely to be a Classic contender as all of his wins have been at distances between 5 & 6 furlongs.
