2/25

Woo, 9 out, 9 in the top 4. :smiley:

Wins:
[color=red]Queen’s Fool (Foolhardy) in an allowance.

[color=blue]Count Rugen (As You Wish) in a NW1.

[color=red]Hidden Lake (Easy Goer) in a NW3.

Places:
[color=red]Sydney Ellen (Candidate) in a NW2.

[color=blue]Little John (Robin Hood) in an allowance.

[color=red]Calanais (Cross Roads) in the Rose of Kingston Stakes.

Shows:
[color=red]Inner Light (Crystal Rainbow) in the Las Flores Handicap.

We didn’t earn a lot today; in fact, our usually weakest mare was the only winner. She’s probably a late bloomer and also needed that switch to steeplechasing.

[color=red]Alchaasibiyeh finished 1st/6 in NW2 for 3yo fillies, two lengths in front of the runner up. She’s the only Alley Cat that I didn’t sell and she’ll probably stay.
[color=red]Tilted Kilt, our 4yo mare out of Ch. Manhattan Skyline (S) finished 2nd/7 in NW3 Allowance for 3yo+ (Steeplechase). She woke up after several not so good runs.
[color=red]Ch. Private Party and [color=blue]Smokin’ Star ran in 6 furlongs Allowance for 4yo+. The mare finished 3rd/14, and the stallion was 6th. It was his first race after we shipped him back from Australia.

And I promised to myself, that I’m not going to claim any more broodmare prospects… especially created which I have definetely too many… but this mare is dark grey, the only colour that I don’t have at Clicker Lab. And she has two speed records, one on turf and one on dirt (although she ran only for Final Furlong). And with her 82 points, she can still earn that Champion title before I retire her. So I claimed [color=red]Roll of Quarters, a 17.2h tall 5yo mare, and she finished 3rd/6 in her claimer.

I tell myself this all the time, it never works :smiley: Good Luck with your new purchase.

We sent out a massive 15 today, but only 14 came home (we were a bit shocked by this):

4YO [color=blue]TRIOMPHE (x Magic Glory) won his NW2, and will continue to work his way up the allowance levels.  Last time he finished at the back of the pack in an OA, as he was in way over his head.  I’m glad to see him make a good turnaround after a drop in level.

Perhaps the most surprising finish of all came from 5YO [color=red]TWIRLAWAY (x Whirlaway), who won the G3 Las Flores Handicap, a race we didn’t exactly expect her to win.  But maybe that’s what gave her the motivation to make it to the winner’s circle.  Whatever it was, I am incredibly pleased to see her as a stakes winner now.

4YO homebred [color=red]OH SO PROUD (x Highland Pride) was 2nd in her NW1, though she still has yet to break her maiden.  But she appears to be figuring it out!

3YO homebred [color=blue]ALLINVAIN (x Worth My While) was 4th in his NW3.

4YO stakes placed [color=red]WANDERLUST was 4th in her claiming race, and went home with Littlefield for the whopping price of $50,000.  I was a bit surprised to see her go, but am happy to see her off to her new home.  I hope she returns that pricetag tenfold - perhaps she’ll make a big mark as a broodmare someday.

The biggest disappointment was in our girl, 5YO [color=red]AFTERGLOW (x Affirmed) who made her second start down in Aus, and again finished midpack, in 5th (granted, to a very classy field of horses).  We may drop her into an OA next to boost her morale, as the stakes level horses running down there are pretty darn intimidating.

Recent claim, 3YO [color=blue]CUCHULAIN (x Irish River) was 5th in his NW1, bleh.

5YO [color=green]TIZSOSUDDEN (x Tiznow) was 5th in his SC claiming race.  I have never gotten the hang of this boy, and now am offering him for sale cheaply due to lack of a record.

Our other recent claim, of famed pedigree: 3YO [color=blue]WIN ZENITH (x Gotta Go) was 5th in his NW3.  It appears to be a lack of maturity/experience, but we’ll be having a whole lot of patience for this guy to figure it out.

Everyone else was off the board even more than that.  Thank goodness some of our ponies are figuring it out!

A decent day for us!

Bold Legion went out in his second race ever, after a long recovery from a broken leg and then my period of inactivity, and he broke his maiden! I’ve always liked this guy and even though it’s just a maiden it made me happy. :slight_smile:

I stuck English Sound in a claimer and he went off to win his first race as well, after not being in the money since his 2yo season.

Gone Native and Mariner both went out in the same maiden for 3yos and came home 9th and 8th, respectivelyl, though to be fair it was a very close finish. :slight_smile: Still gotta figure these boys out.

Greylin went out last in her first race ever and finished 2nd which I am pretty happy with. She’s a nice filly and I hope she’ll turn into a decent runner.

Only three brought home checks:

[color=red]Ordinarily Yours ran 2nd/12 in her NW2.
[color=red]Anne Boleyn ran 2nd/6 in her NW2.
[color=green]Rite of Passage finished 4th/6 in his NW2.

Congrats. :slight_smile: It’s always nice when they come back from a big injury.
